Abstract:
In this paper, we investigate the behaviour of a minimally coupled tachyonic scalar field at inflection points in an accelerating universe. We consider the different expansion factors and obtain potentials of tachyonic scalar field. Inflection points of homogeneous tachyonic scalar field is calculated for these potentials. Quantum gravity has been baffling the theoretical physicist for decades now: both for its mathematical obscurity and phenomenological testing. Nevertheless, the new era of precision cosmology presents a promising avenue to test the effects of quantum gravity. In this study, we consider a bottom-up approach. Without resorting to any candidate quantum gravity, we invoke a generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) directly into the cosmological Hamiltonian for a universe sourced by a phantom scalar field with potential to study the early epoch of the evolution. This is followed by a systematic analysis of the dynamics, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Our qualitative analysis shows that the introduction of GUP significantly alters the existence of fixed points for the potential considered in this contribution. In addition, we confirm the existence of an inflationary epoch and analyze the behavior of relevant cosmological parameters with respect to the strength of GUP distortion.

The BICEP2 data and a single Higgs-like interacting tachyonic field

Abstract:
It is proposed that the recently announced BICEP2 value of tensor-to scalar ratio $r\sim0.2$ can be explained as containing an extra contribution from the recent acceleration of the universe. In fact this contribution, being robust, recent and of much longer duration (by a large order of magnitude) may dominate the contribution from the inflationary origin. In a possible scenario, matter (dark or baryonic) and radiation etc. can emerge from a single Higgs-like tachyonic scalar field in the universe through a physical mechanism not yet fully known to us. The components interact among themselves to achieve the thermodynamical equilibrium in the evolution of the universe. The field potential for the present acceleration of the universe would give a boost to the amplitude of the tensor fluctuations of gravity waves generated by the early inflation and the net effects may be higher than the earlier PLANCK bounds. In the process, the dark energy, as a cosmological constant decays into creation of dark matter. The diagnostics for the three-component, spatially homogeneous tachyonic scalar field are discussed in detail. The components of the field with perturbed equation of state are taken to interact mutually and the conservation of energy for individual components gets violated. We study mainly the $O_{m}(x)$ diagnostics with the observed set of $H(z)$ values at various redshifts, and the dimensionless state-finders for these interacting components. This analysis provides a strong case for the interacting dark energy in our model.

We study the perturbed equation of state (EOS) parameters of the cosmological tachyonic scalar field components and their mutual time-dependent interaction.
It is shown that the discrete temperature-dependent pattern of the EOS emerges from an initial continuum along the evolution of the universe. This leads to two major components in form of dark energy and dark matter, and also suggests a solu…

We propose a model of the evolution of the tachyonic scalar field over two phases in the universe. The field components do not interact in phase I, while in the subsequent phase II, they change flavours due to relative suppression of the radiation contribution. In phase II, we allow them to interact mutually with time-independent perturbation in their equations of state, as Shifted Cosmological Parameter (SCP) and Shifted Dust Matter (SDM). We determine the solutions of their scaling with the cosmic redshift in both phases. We further suggest the normalized Hubble function diagnostic, which, together with the low- and high-redshift $H(z)$ data and the concordance values of the present density parameters from the CMBR, BAO statistics etc., constrains the strength of interaction, by imposing the viable conditions to break degeneracy in 3-parameter $(γ, \varepsilon, \dotφ^2)$ space. The range of redshifts $(z=0.1$ to $z=1.75)$ is chosen to highlight the role of interaction during structure formation, and it may lead to a future analysis of power spectrum in this model \emph{vis a vis} Warm Dark Matter (WDM) or $Λ$CDM models. We further calculate the influence of interaction in determining the age of the universe at the present epoch, within the degeneracy space of model parameters.

We investigate the tachyonic cosmological potential $V(φ)$ in two different cases of the quasi-exponential expansion of universe and discuss various forms of interaction between the two components---matter and the cosmological constant--- of the tachyonic scalar field, which leads to the viable solutions of their respective energy densities. The distinction among the interaction forms is shown to appear in the $O_{m}(x)$ diagnostic. Further, the role of the high- and low-redshift observations of the Hubble parameter is discussed to determine the proportionality constants and hence the correct form of matter--cosmological constant interaction.
