Searching for solar KDAR with DUNE
Abstract: The observation of 236 MeV muon neutrinos from kaon-decay-at-rest (KDAR) originating in the core of the Sun would provide a unique signature of dark matter annihilation. Since excellent angle and energy reconstruction are necessary to detect this monoenergetic, directional neutrino flux, DUNE with its vast volume and reconstruction capabilities, is a promising candidate for a KDAR neutrino search.… ▽ More

The pros and cons of beyond standard model interpretations of ANITA events
Abstract: The Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) experiment has observed two air shower events with energy $\sim 500~{\rm PeV}$ emerging from the Earth with exit angles $\sim 30^\circ$ above the horizon. Big Bang Nucleosynthesis in the presence of sterile neutrinos with altered dispersion relations
Abstract: Big Bang Nucleosynthesis imposes stringent bounds on light sterile neutrinos mixing with the active flavors. Here we discuss how altered dispersion relations can weaken such bounds and allow compatibility of new sterile neutrino degrees of freedom with a successful generation of the light elements in the early Universe.

Glashow resonance as a window into cosmic neutrino sources
Abstract: The Glashow resonance at E_ν=6.3 PeV is a measure of the \barν_e content of the astrophysical neutrino flux. The fractional \barν_e content depends on the neutrino production model at the cosmic neutrino source, and the environment at the source. Thus, the strength of the Glashow resonance event rate is a potential window into astrophysical sources. We quantify the "Glashow resonometer" and commen… ▽ More

Explanation for the low flux of high energy astrophysical muon-neutrinos
Abstract: We consider the possibility that some exotic neutrino property is responsible for reducing the muon neutrino flux at high energies from distant neutrino sources; specifically, we consider (i) neutrino decay and (ii) neutrinos being pseudo-Dirac particles. This would provide a mechanism for the lack of high energy muons in the Icecube detector.

Three Neutrino Flavors are Enough
Abstract: It is shown that it is possible to account for all three experimental indications for neutrino oscillations with just three neutrino flavors. In particular, we suggest that the solar and atmospheric neutrino anomalies are to be explained by the same mass difference and mixing. Possible implications and future tests of the resulting mass-mixing pattern are given.

Sonoluminescence in Neutron Stars
Abstract: After a brief discussion of a possible relationship between the electroweak phase transition in highly compressed matter and gravitational collapse, we examine the speculative possibility that the electroweak phase transition might be contemporarily occurring in processes in neutron stars. We conjecture that adiabatic compression of neutron star matter due to focusing of the energy from a supern… ▽ More

Gamma--Ray Bursters, Neutrinos, and Cosmology
Abstract: Gamma ray burst (GRB) objects are now widely thought to be at cosmological distances, and thus represent enormous energy emission. Gamma ray spectra extending to $GeV$ energies suggest the possiblity of accompanying neutrino emission, and there are several models proposed suggesting the potential detectability of such coincident neutrino bursts. With this in view, we examine possible measurement… ▽ More

Detecting Tau Neutrino Oscillations at PeV Energies
Abstract: It is suggested that a large deep underocean (or ice) neutrino detector, given the presence of significant numbers of neutrinos in the PeV energy range as predicted by various models of Active Galactic Nuclei, can make unique measurements of the properties of neutrinos. It will be possible to observe the existence of the tau neutrino, measure its mixing with other flavors, in fact test the mixin… ▽ More

Detecting Nutau Oscillations as PeV Energies
Abstract: It is suggested that a large deep underocean neutrino detector, given the presence of significant numbers of neutrinos in the PeV range as predicted by various models of Active Galactic Nuclei, can make unique measurements of the properties of neutrinos. It will be possible to observe the existence of the nu_tau, measure its mixing with other flavors, in fact test the mixing pattern for all thre… ▽ More
