We present the results of the optical identification and spectroscopic redshift measurements of 216 galaxy clusters detected in the SRG/eROSITA all-sky X-ray survey. The spectroscopic observations were performed in 2020-2023 with the 6-m BTA telescope at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the 2.5-m telescope at the Caucasus Mountain Observatory of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute of the Moscow State University, the 1.6-m AZT-33IK telescope at the Sayan Solar Observatory of the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the 1.5-m Russian-Turkish telescope (RTT-150) at the TÜBİTAK Observatory. For all of the galaxy clusters presented here the spectroscopic redshift measurements have been obtained for the first time. Of these, 139 galaxy clusters have been detected for the first time in the SRG/eROSITA survey and 22 galaxy clusters are at redshifts $z_{spec} \gtrsim 0.7$, including three at $z_{spec} \gtrsim 1$. Deep direct images with the rizJK filters have also been obtained for four distant galaxy clusters at $z_{spec} > 0.7$. For these observations the most massive clusters are selected. Therefore, most of the galaxy clusters presented here most likely will be included in the cosmological samples of galaxy clusters from the SRG/eROSITA survey.

Optical circular polarization observations can directly test the particle composition in black holes jets. Here we report on the first observations of the BL Lac type object S4 0954+65 in high linear polarized states. While no circular polarization was detected, we were able to place upper limits of <0.5% at the 99.7% confidence. Using a simple model and our novel optical circular polarization observations we can constrain the allowed parameter space for the magnetic field strength and composition of the emitting particles. Our results favor models that require magnetic field strengths of only a few Gauss and models where the jet composition is dominated by electron-positron pairs. We discuss our findings in the context of typical magnetic field strength requirements for blazar emission models.

The paper describes the MAGIC multi-mode focal reducer (Monitoring of Active Galaxies by Investigation of their Cores), commissioned on the 1-m Zeiss-1000 telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences in September 2020. Three observational modes are currently realised: photometry, polarimetry, and long-slit spectroscopy. Reducing the focal length makes it possible to obtain a sufficiently large field of view for photometry and a large slit height for spectroscopy of $\sim$12$'$, as well as a large field of view for polarimetry with a quadrupole Wollaston prism of $\sim$6$'$.4. This feature makes the complex study of extended nebulae and galaxies efficient. The MAGIC capabilities are presented in examples of observations of various astronomical objects. The spectral mode in the range of 4000-7200 AA provides the spectral resolution $R \sim$ 1000; for a starlike target up to 14 mag in medium-band filters with a seeing of 1$''$ for 20 minutes of total exposure, the photometry accuracy is better than 0.01 mag and the polarization accuracy is better than 0.6%. Especially for the new focal reducer, an offset guide and a position angle rotation system were implemented. The results of the modernization of the baffle system in the optical scheme of the telescope for the suppression of scattered light are also described.

The interaction of a supermassive black hole with the matter of an accretion disk in the presence of a magnetic field is the key mechanism of energy release in active galactic nuclei. However, determining the physical parameters of this system, such as the spin and mass of the black hole, the shape and parameters of the rotation of the accretion disk, and the geometry of the magnetic field in the accretion disk is a complex and not completely solved problem. We have previously shown, based on our numerical models, that these estimates can be obtained from just three parameters: the black hole mass, bolometric luminosity, and optical polarization. In this paper, we estimate the accretion disk and black hole parameters for a sample of 14 type 1 Seyfert galaxies. Using the spectropolarimetric data obtained by us, we selected only those objects in which the polarization of optical radiation is generated mainly by the mechanism in the accretion disk. Despite the small statistics, our results for such a sample are consistent with our previous conclusions and show a discrepancy between the disk magnetic field parameters and the classical Shakura-Sunyaev disk model.

Herein, we describe the design, implementation and operation principles of an astronomical camera system, based on a large-format CCD261-84 detector with an extremely thick 200 mkm substrate. The DINACON-V controller was used with the CCD to achieve high performance and low noise. The CCD system photometric characteristics are presented. A spatial autocorrelation analysis of flat-field images was performed to reveal the dependence of substrate voltage on the lateral charge spreading. The investigation of the dispersion index for the optimal choice of exposure time is discussed. Studies of the patterns of fringes were carried out in comparison with previous detectors. The amplitude of fringes with CCD261-84 was significantly lower, compared to previous-generation detectors. The results of using a new camera for imaging and spectral observations at the Russian 6 m telescope with the SCORPIO-2 multimode focal reducer are considered. The developed CCD camera system makes it possible to significantly increase the sensitivity in the 800-1000 spectral range.

Earlier, we suggested the "reload" concept of the polarimetric reverberation mapping of active galactic nuclei (AGN), proposed for the first time more than 10 years ago. We have successfully tested this approach of reverberation mapping of the broad emission line on the galaxy Mrk 6. It was shown that such an idea allows one to look at the AGN central parsec structure literally in a new light. However, the method originally assumed the use of spectropolarimetric observations, expensive in terms of telescope time, and implemented on rare large telescopes. Currently, we propose an adaptation of the polarimetric reverberation mapping of broad lines in medium-band filters following the idea of the photometric reverberation mapping, when filters are selected so that their bandwidth is oriented to the broad line and the surrounding continuum near. In this paper, we present the progress status of such monitoring conducted jointly at the Special astrophysical observatory and Asiago Cima Ekar observatory (OAPd/INAF) with support from Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory (NAO), some first results for the most frequently observed AGNs Mrk 335, Mrk 509, and Mrk 817, and the discussion of the future perspectives of the campaign.

Photometric observations of the optical companion of SRGe2149+6736 were carried out on 6m telescope BTA SAO RAS, 1.5m Russian-Turkish telescope RTT-150 and 2.5m telescope CMO of Moscow State University. Together with ZTF data they showed that the source is a cataclysmic variable with an orbital period $P=85\pm0.4$~min which demonstrates long-term brightness variability from $23.5$~mag (low state) to $20$~mag (high state). The high-state light curves are consistent with a model of accreting magnetic white dwarf and suggest that SRGe2149+6736 belongs to AM~Her type variables. The optical spectra obtained in the low state are consistent with a spectral energy distribution of a white dwarf with a temperature of ~24000 K.

KK242 is a LV dwarf of transition type residing in the void environment. Koda et al. present clear indications on its connection with Scd galaxy NGC6503. This implies the distance to KK242 of ~6.3 Mpc and its M_B = -10.5 mag. Its radial velocity, known from the Effelsberg radio telescope \HI\ observations, reveals, however, the difference with that of NGC6503, dV ~ 400 km/s. If real, this fact implies the substantial constraints on its origin. To clear-up the issue of KK242 radial velocity, we obtained with the SAO 6-m telescope spectra of its faint star-forming (SF) complex. H-alpha and H-beta emission is detected in two adjacent compact regions, the southern and northern, separated by ~2" (~60 pc). Their mean radial velocity is V_hel = -66 km/s, ~100 km/s lower than that of NGC6503. We use the HST Legacy Archive images and photometry of individual stars from the Extragalactic Distance Database, available for KK242, to identify in the SF complex the exciting hot stars, the probable BHeB and RHeB stars and a supernova remnant. We address, based on the possible range of its gas metallicity, the probable evolutionary paths of KK242. Using package Cloudy and parameters of the exciting B0V stars, we conclude that the observed flux ratio of [Sii] doublet to H-alpha is consistent with the value of 12+log(O/H) ~7.35+/-0.18 dex, expected for a stripped void dIrr galaxy.

Due to the first results on astrophysical X-ray polarization provided by \textit{IXPE} observatory, the interest in wavelength-dependent synchrotron polarization of BL Lac type objects increases. This paper presents the results of multi-band optical observations of the well-known blazar named BL Lac ($z=0.069$) in polarized light. It was shown that the object's emission, regardless of its phase of activity, is characterized by the intraday variability of brightness and polarization with changes occurring on a time-scale of up to 1.5 hours without any stable oscillation period. Polarimetric observations in the different optical bands show that the degree and angle of polarization of the blazar depend on the wavelength, and the maximum chromatism, as well as the maximum observed polarization degree, was detected during the minimum brightness state; during the flare state, the polarization chromatism changed along with the flux gradient on the time-scale of an hour. Qualitatively, such behaviour can be described by the shock-in-jet model, yet the chromatism amplitude and its rapid changes differ significantly from the model predictions and challenge the numerical calculations.

Both of them were observed within the photometric reverberation mapping project in Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SAO RAS), during which we earlier obtained the SMBHs masses. After that, both galaxies were observed in spectropolarimetric and polarimetric modes on the BTA 6 m telescope of the SAO RAS with the focal reducer SCORPIO-2. The linear polarization of the continuum and broad Balmer lines has been measured. It was found that (i) there were no signs of equatorial scattering in the LEDA 3095839 galaxy in the broad H-alpha line, and we were able to estimate the value of SMBH spin and the magnetic field strength in the disk from the level of continuum polarization; (ii) for the galaxy VII Zw 244, the presence of equatorial scattering was shown, due to which the mass of the SMBH was independently measured, the inclination angle of the system was obtained, and the value of the spin was estimated.

We present an observational study of the luminous red nova (LRN) AT\,2021biy in the nearby galaxy NGC\,4631. The field of the object was routinely imaged during the pre-eruptive stage by synoptic surveys, but the transient was detected only at a few epochs from $\sim 231$\,days before maximum brightness. The LRN outburst was monitored with unprecedented cadence both photometrically and spectroscopically. AT\,2021biy shows a short-duration blue peak, with a bolometric luminosity of $\sim 1.6 \times 10^{41}$\,erg\,s$^{-1}$, followed by the longest plateau among LRNe to date, with a duration of 210\,days. A late-time hump in the light curve was also observed, possibly produced by a shell-shell collision. AT\,2021biy exhibits the typical spectral evolution of LRNe. Early-time spectra are characterised by a blue continuum and prominent H emission lines. Then, the continuum becomes redder, resembling that of a K-type star with a forest of metal absorption lines during the plateau phase. Finally, late-time spectra show a very red continuum ($T_{\mathrm{BB}} \approx 2050$ K) with molecular features (e.g., TiO) resembling those of M-type stars. Spectropolarimetric analysis indicates that AT\,2021biy has local dust properties similar to those of V838\,Mon in the Milky Way Galaxy. Inspection of archival {\it Hubble Space Telescope} data taken on 2003 August 3 reveals a $\sim 20$\,\msun\ progenitor candidate with log\,$(L/{\rm L}_{\odot}) = 5.0$\,dex and $T_{\rm{eff}} = 5900$\,K at solar metallicity. The above luminosity and colour match those of a luminous yellow supergiant. Most likely, this source is a close binary, with a 17--24\,\msun\ primary component.

This paper is devoted to the memory of Dr. Victor Afanasiev and his immense legacy. The report highlights the capabilities of two new instruments tested at the 1-meter Zeiss-1000 telescope of SAO RAS: the Stokes Polarimeter (StoP) and the MAGIC focal reducer. Optimized for the study of active galactic nuclei (AGN), methodically, these instruments are suitable for a wide range of small telescope tasks. The fields of view of StoP and MAGIC are 6' and 13' for direct images, respectively. The StoP device allows one to conduct photometric observations and polarimetric ones with a double Wollaston prism; the spectral mode was added to MAGIC. For a starlike target up to 14 mag in medium-band filters with a seeing of 1" for 20 minutes of total exposure, the photometry accuracy is better than 0.01 mag and the polarization accuracy is better than 0.6%. The available spectral range obtained with the volume phase holographic grating in MAGIC is 4000-7200AA with a dispersion of 2A/px. StoP and MAGIC received the first light in 2020 and are used in test mode at the Zeiss-1000. The improvement of the calibration relation for determining the size of the broad-line region from the observed optical luminosity of active galactic nuclei (AGN) is a necessary task to study fundamental parameters of distant AGNs such as mass of the central supermassive black hole. The most popular method of the BLR size estimation is the reverberation mapping based on measuring the time delay between the continuum flux and the flux in the emission lines. In our work, we apply the method of photometric reverberation mapping in medium-band filters, adapted for observations at the Zeiss-1000 telescope of the SAO RAS, for the study of AGN with broad lines in the range of redshifts $0.1 < z < 0.8$. This paper describes the technique of observations and data processing, provides a sample of objects and demonstrates the stability of the used method. As a preliminary result for 2MASX J08535955+7700543 at $z=0.1$ we have obtained time delay estimates of $τ(ICCF)=32.2^{\pm10.6}$ days and $τ(JAVELIN)=39.5_{-15.8}^{+23.0}$ days that are consistent with each other and also within the accuracy of the existing calibration relations.
