Abstract:
Spectral and photometric variability of the Classical T Tauri stars RY Tau and SU Aur from 2013 to 2022 is analyzed. We find that in SU Aur the H-alpha line's flux at radial velocity RV = -50 +- 7 km/s varies with a period P = 255 +- 5 days. A similar effect previously discovered in RY Tau is confirmed with these new data: P = 21.6 days at RV = -95 +- 5 km/s. In both stars, the radial velocity of…

In both stars, the radial velocity of these variations, the period, and the mass of the star turn out to be related by Kepler's law, suggesting structural features on the disc plane orbiting at radii of 0.2 AU in RY Tau and 0.9 AU in SU Aur, respectively. Both stars have a large inclination of the accretion disc to the line of sight - so that the line of sight passes through the region of the disc wind. We propose there is an azimuthal asymmetry in the disc wind, presumably in the form of 'density streams', caused by substructures of the accretion disc surface. These streams cannot dissipate until they go beyond the Alfven surface in the disc's magnetic field. These findings open up the possibility to learn about the structure of the inner accretion disc of CTTS on scales less than 1 AU and to reveal the orbital distances related to the planet's formation.

Context. The eclipsing close binary UU Cas is an interacting massive double-periodic system with a gainer star partly hidden in an accretion disk. Aims. In order to study the physics of the accretion process in greater detail, along with the structure and dynamics of the circumstellar matter in the system, we supplement our previous results obtained from photometry with an analysis of the spectra of UU Cas. Methods. We collected all available spectra used in previous publications on UU Cas and we acquired new ones. The method of disentangling was applied to this set of spectra spanning the years 2008-2021. The orbital parameters were disentangled and a fit of the separated component spectra by synthetic ones has been used to determine the physical parameters of the component stars. We compared the results to models of the evolution of interacting binaries. Results. We found that in addition to the dominant role of the donor star and a weak contribution of the gainer, the line profiles are strongly influenced by the circumstellar matter. The absorption lines reveal a presence of a disk wind emanating above the orbital plane. The variability of Hα emission yields evidence of changes in the structure of the circumstellar matter on a timescale of several orbital periods.

Planets are thought to form at the early stage of stellar evolution when the mass accretion is still ongoing. RY Tau is a T Tauri type star at the age of a few Myr, with accretion disc seen at high inclination, so that line of sight crosses both the wind and the accretion gas flows. In a long series of spectroscopic monitoring of the star in 2013-2020, we detected variations in H-alpha and NaI D absorptions at radial velocities of infall (accretion) and outflow (wind) with a period of about 22 days. The absorptions in the infalling and the outflowing gas streams vary in anti-phase: an increase of infall is accompanied by a decrease of outflow, and vice versa. These flip-flop oscillations retain phase over several years of observations. We suggest that this may result from the MHD processes at the disk-magnetosphere boundary in the propeller mode. Another possibility is that a massive planet modulates some processes in the disc and provides the observed effects. The period, if Keplerian, corresponds to a distance of 0.2 AU, which is close to the dust sublimation radius in this star. The presence of the putative planet may be confirmed by radial velocity measurements: expected amplitude is > 90 m/s if a planet mass is > 2 Mj.

The unspotted surface temperature is Teff=4730 K, the temperature of the cool spots is Tspot=3500 K, their relative area is about 41%, and the temperature of the warm spots is Twarm=4500 K with a maximum relative area up to 20%. The distribution of spots over the stellar surface has been modeled. The warm spots have been found to be distributed at various longitudes in the hemisphere on the side of the secondary component and are most likely a result of its influence.

Classical T Tauri stars with ages of less than 10 Myr possess accretion discs. Magnetohydrodynamic processes at the boundary between the disc and the stellar magnetosphere control the accretion and ejections gas flows. We carried out a long series of simultaneous spectroscopic and photometric observations of the classical T Tauri stars RY Tau and SU Aur with the aim to quantify the accretion and outflow dynamics at time scales from days to years. It is shown that dust in the disc wind is the main source of photometric variability of these stars. In RY Tau we observed a new effect: during events of enhanced outflow the circumstellar extinction gets lower. The characteristic time of changes in outflow velocity and stellar brightness indicates that the obscuring dust is near the star. The outflow activity in both stars is changing on a time scale of years. Periods of quiescence in H$α$ profile variability were observed during 2015-2016 season in RY Tau and during 2016-2017 season in SU Aur. We interpret these findings in the framework of the magnetospheric accretion model, and discuss how the global stellar magnetic field may influence the long-term variations of the outflow activity.

We report variation of K-band infrared (IR) emission in the vicinity of the G025.65+1.05 water and methanol maser source. New observational data were obtained with 2.5m telescope of the Caucasian Mountain Observatory (CMO) of Moscow State University on 2017-09-21 during the strong water maser flare. We found that the IR source situated close to the maser position had decreased brightness in comparison to archive data. This source is associated with a massive young stellar object (MYSO) corresponding to the compact infrared source IRAS 18316-0602 (RAFGL 7009S). Similar decrease in K-brightness of the IR source close to the maser position was observed in March~2011 when the water maser activity was increased. The dips in MYSO brightness can be related to the maser flare phases. Maser flares that are concurrent with dips of the IR emission can be explained if the lower IR radiation field enables more efficient sink of the pumping cycle by allowing IR photons to escape the maser region.

Using both TLUSTY and CMFGEN codes we derived effective temperatures, surface gravities, chemical abundances, mass-loss rates and projected rotation velocities. Due to the fact that distance to the stars is well known, we were able to estimate their luminosities. Using evolutionary models we estimated the ages of these sample stars and find that lower mass ones - MT282 and MT343 - belong to older population of the association. Their ages are greater than 10 Myr. The ages of three other stars - MT317, MT299, MT259 - are between 4-6 Myr.
