Non-Gaussianity from primordial black holes
Abstract: We study the effects of non-Gaussianity from primordial black holes (PBHs). The formation of PBHs is in general a rare event and the number of PBHs fluctuates following the Poisson distribution function, which is independent from the pre-existing inflationary adiabatic fluctuations. Such fluctuations can dominate over the adiabatic mode on small scales. We focus on the non-Gaussianity of matter de… ▽ More

Cosmological Consequences of Kinetic Mixing between Photon and Dark Photon
Abstract: We study the kinetic mixing between the cosmic microwave background (CMB) photon and the birefringent dark photon as a source of cosmic birefringence. We show that indeed the birefringence of the dark photon propagates to the CMB photon, but the resulting birefringence may not be uniform over the sky. Moreover, our investigation sheds light on the essential role played by kinetic mixing in the gen… ▽ More

New shape of parity-violating graviton non-Gaussianity
Abstract: We show that the general vacuum states that respect the de Sitter symmetry, known as the α-vacua, can introduce non-vanishing parity-violating tensor non-Gaussianities. Such interactions involving a scalar coupling $g_S^N$ at one vertex and a pseudo-scalar coupling $g_P^n$ at the polarized neutron vertex can be induced by the exchange of spin-0 bosons, or a vector/axial-vector coupling $g_V^N$/$g_A^N$ at one vertex and an axial-vec… ▽ More

Correlation of isocurvature perturbation and non-Gaussianity
Abstract: We explore the correlations between primordial non-Gaussianity and isocurvature perturbation. We sketch the generic relation between the bispectrum of the curvature perturbation and the cross-correlation power spectrum in the presence of explicit couplings between the inflaton and another light field which gives rise to isocurvature perturbation. Using a concrete model of a Peccei-Quinn type field… ▽ More

A new parameter in attractor single-field inflation
Abstract: We revisit the notion of slow-roll in the context of general single-field inflation. As a generalization of slow-roll dynamics, we consider an inflaton $φ$ in an attractor phase where the time derivative of $φ$ is determined by a function of $φ$, $\dotφ=\dotφ(φ)$. In other words, we consider the case when the number of $e$-folds $N$ counted backward in time from the end of inflation is solely a fu… ▽ More

Probing reheating with primordial spectrum
Abstract: We study the impacts of reheating temperature on the inflationary predictions of the spectral index and tensor-to-scalar ratio. Assuming sinusoidal oscillations and that reheating process is very fast, the reheating temperature can be constrained for sinusoidal oscillation within a factor of 10 - 100 or even better with the prospect of future observations. Beyond this, we find that the predictions… ▽ More

On the possibility of blue tensor spectrum within single field inflation
Abstract: We present a series of theoretical constraints on the potentially viable inflation models that might yield a blue spectrum for primordial tensor perturbations. By performing a detailed dynamical analysis we show that, while there exists such possibility, the corresponding phase space is strongly bounded. Our result implies that, in order to achieve a blue tilt for inflationary tensor perturbations… ▽ More

CMB probes on the correlated axion isocurvature perturbation
Abstract: We explore the possible cosmological consequence of the gravitational coupling between the inflaton and axion-like fields. In view of the forthcoming cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization and lensing data, we study the sensitivity of the CMB data on the cross-correlation between the curvature and axion isocurvature perturbations. Through a concrete example, we illustrate the explicit depe… ▽ More

Running of scalar spectral index in multi-field inflation
Abstract: We compute the running of the scalar spectral index in general multi-field slow-roll inflation. By incorporating explicit momentum dependence at the moment of horizon crossing, we can find the running straightforwardly. At the same time, we can distinguish the contributions from the quasi de Sitter background and the super-horizon evolution of the field fluctuations.

Non-linear power spectra in the synchronous gauge
Abstract: We study the non-linear corrections to the matter and velocity power spectra in the synchronous gauge (SG). We consider the perturbations up to third order in a zero-pressure fluid in flat cosmological background, which is relevant for the non-linear growth of cosmic structure. As a result, we point out that the SG is an inappropriate coordinate choice when handling the non-linear growth of the la… ▽ More
