For the strong gravitational wave model, an explicit transformation is obtained from a privileged coordinate system with a wave variable to a synchronous reference frame with separation of time and space variables. In a synchronous reference frame, a general form of the gravitational wave metric, solutions to the equations of trajectories for test particles in the Hamilton-Jacobi formalism, a solution to the eikonal equation for radiation, and a form of equations for the light cone of an observer in a gravitational wave were found. Using the obtained relations, the form the retarded time of radiation in the gravitational wave was found. The general relations obtained can be applied both in Einstein general theory of relativity and in modified theories of gravity. The obtained relations were applied in the work for an exact model of a gravitational wave in the Bianchi type VI universe based on an exact solution of Einstein vacuum equations.

We consider the Chiral Cosmological Models (CCMs) and modified gravity theories associated with them. Generalization of the superpotential method for a general CCM with several scalar fields is performed, and the method of construction CCMs admitting exact solutions is developed. New classes of exact solutions in the two-component CCM connected with an $f(R)$ gravity model with an additional scalar field have been constructed. We construct new cosmological solutions for a diagonal metric of the target space, including modified power-law solutions. In particular, we propose the reconstruction procedure based on the superpotential method and present examples of kinetic part reconstruction for periodic and hyperbolic Hubble parameters. We also focus on a cyclic type of Universe dubbed the Quasi-Steady State (QSS) model, with the aim of constructing single- and double-field potentials for one and the same behaviour of the Hubble parameter using the developed superpotential method for the CCM. The realization of this task includes a new set of solutions for a CCM with a scale factor characterized by the QSS theory. We also propose a method for reducing the two-field CCM to the single scalar field model.

In this work we study a modified version of vacuum $f(R)$ gravity with a kinetic term which consists of the first derivatives of the Ricci scalar. We develop the general formalism of this kinetic Ricci modified $f(R)$ gravity and we emphasize on cosmological applications for a spatially flat cosmological background. By using the formalism of this theory, we investigate how it is possible to realize various cosmological scenarios. Also we demonstrate that this theoretical framework can be treated as a reconstruction method, in the context of which it is possible to realize various exotic cosmologies for ordinary Einstein-Hilbert action. Finally, we derive the scalar-tensor counterpart theory of this kinetic Ricci modified $f(R)$ gravity, and we show the mathematical equivalence of the two theories.

Recently the Chiral Cosmological Model (CCM) coupled to cold dark matter (CDM) has been investigated as $σ$CDM model to study the observed accelerated expansion of the Universe. Dark sector fields (as Dark Energy content) coupled to cosmic dust were considered as the source of Einstein gravity in Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) cosmology. Such model had a beginning at the matter-dominated era. The purposes of our present investigation are two folds: to extend <<life>> of the $σ$CDM for earlier times to radiation-dominated era and to take into account variation of the exponential potential via variation of the interaction parameter $λ$.
We use Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) procedure to investigate possible values of initial conditions constrained by the measured amount of the dark matter, dark energy and radiation component today.
Our analysis includes dark energy contribution to critical density, the ratio of the kinetic and potential energies, deceleration parameter, effective equation of state and evolution of DE equation of state with variation of coupling constant $λ$. A comparison with the $Λ$CDM model was performed. A new feature of the model is the existence of some values of potential coupling constant, leading to a $σ$CDM solution without transit into accelerated expansion epoch.

The reconstruction of $h_{22}$ and $V$ for the early and later inflation have been performed. The proposed model is confronted to $ΛCDM$ model as well.

The superpotential and Hubble parameter are represented in quadratures. These solutions have inflationary phases under general assumptions and also describe an exit from the inflationary phase without a fine tuning of the parameters. Another class solutions can describe the current phase of accelerated expansion with or without possible exit from it.
