Rosenthal operator spaces
Abstract: In 1969 Lindenstrauss and Rosenthal showed that if a Banach space is isomorphic to a complemented subspace of an L_p-space, then it is either a script L_p-space or isomorphic to a Hilbert space. This is the motivation of this paper where we study non--Hilbertian complemented operator subspaces of non commutative L_p-spaces and show that this class is much richer than in the commutative case. We… ▽ More

The solution to the Maurey extension problem for Banach spaces with the Gordon Lewis property and related structures
Abstract: The main result of this paper states that if a Banach space X has the property that every bounded operator from an arbitrary subspace of X into an arbitrary Banach space of cotype 2 extends to a bounded operator on X, then $B(\ell_{\infty},X^*)=Π_2(\ell_{\infty},X^*)$. If in addition X has the Gaussian average property, then it is of type 2. This implies that the same conclusion holds if X has t… ▽ More

Embeddings of Banach Spaces into Banach Lattices and the Gordon-Lewis Property
Abstract: In this paper we first show that if $X$ is a Banach space and $α$ is a left invariant crossnorm on $\ell_\infty\otimes X$, then there is a Banach lattice $L$ and an isometric embedding $J$ of $X$ into $L$, so that $I\otimes J$ becomes an isometry of $\ell_\infty\otimes_αX$ onto $\ell_\infty\otimes_m J(X)$. Here $I$ denotes the identity operator on $\ell_\infty$ and $\ell_\infty\otimes_m J(X)$ th… ▽ More

The relations between volume ratios and new concepts of gl constants
Abstract: In this paper we investigate a property named GL(p,q) which is closely related to the Gordon-Lewis property. Our results on GL(p,q) are then used to estimate volume ratios relative to $\ell_p$, $1<p \le\infty$, of unconditional direct sums of Banach spaces.

A Gaussian Average Property for Banach Spaces
Abstract: In this paper we investigate a Gaussian average property of Banach spaces. This property is weaker than the Gordon Lewis property but closely related to this and other unconditional structures. It is also shown that this property implies that certain Hilbert space valued operators defined on subspaces of the given space can be extended.

Vector-valued L_p convergence of orthogonal series and Lagrange interpolation
Abstract: We give necessary and sufficient conditions for interpolation inequalities of the type considered by Marcinkiewicz and Zygmund to be true in the case of Banach space-valued polynomials and Jacobi weights and nodes. We also study the vector-valued expansion problem of $L_p$-functions in terms of Jacobi polynomials and consider the question of unconditional convergence. The notion of type $p$ wit… ▽ More
