On the boundedness of generalized integration operators on Hardy spaces
Abstract: We study the boundedness and compactness properties of the generalized integration operator $T_{g,a}$ when it acts between distinct Hardy spaces in the unit disc of the complex plane. This operator has been introduced by the first author in connection to a theorem of Cohn about factorization of higher order derivatives of functions in Hardy spaces. We answer in the affirmative a conjecture stated… ▽ More

Carleson measures for Hardy-Sobolev spaces in the Siegel upper half-space
Abstract: We give a capacitary type characterization of Carleson measures for a class of Hardy-Sobolev spaces (also known as weighted Dirichlet spaces) on the Siegel upper half-space, introduced by Arcozzi et al. This answers in part a question raised by the same authors.

Random Carleson Sequences for the Hardy space on the Polydisc and the Unit Ball
Abstract: We study the Kolmogorov 0-1 law for a random sequence with prescribed radii so that it generates a Carleson measure almost surely, both for the Hardy space on the polydisc and the Hardy space on the unit ball, thus providing improved versions of previous results of the first two authors and of a separate result of Massaneda. In the polydisc, the geometry of such sequences is not well understood, s… ▽ More

On the speed of convergence in the ergodic theorem for shift operators
Abstract: Given a probability space $(X,μ)$, a square integrable function $f$ on such space and a (unilateral or bilateral) shift operator $T$, we prove under suitable assumptions that the ergodic means $N^{-1}\sum_{n=0}^{N-1} T^nf$ converge pointwise almost everywhere to zero with a speed of convergence which, up to a small logarithmic transgression, is essentially of the order of $N^{-1/2}$. We also provi… ▽ More

Generalized Hilbert operators arising from Hausdorff matrices
Abstract: For a finite, positive, Borel measure $μ$ on $(0,1)$ we consider an infinite matrix $Γ_μ$, related to the classical Hausdorff matrix defined by the same measure $μ$, in the same algebraic way that the Hilbert matrix is related to the Cesáro matrix. When $μ$ is the Lebesgue measure, $Γ_μ$ reduces to the classical Hilbert matrix. We prove that the matrices $Γ_μ$ are not Hankel, unless $μ$ is a const… ▽ More

Simply interpolating sequences in complete Pick spaces
Abstract: We characterize simply interpolating sequences (also known as onto interpolating sequences) for complete Pick spaces. We show that a sequence is simply interpolating if and only if it is strongly separated. This answers a question of Agler and McCarthy. Moreover, we show that in many important examples of complete Pick spaces, including weighted Dirichlet spaces on the unit disc and the Drury-Arve… ▽ More

A note on simply interpolating sequences for the Dirichlet space
Abstract: We study simply interpolating sequences for the Dirichlet space in the unit disc. In particular we are interested in comparing three different sufficient conditions for simply interpolating sequences. The first one is the the so called one box condition, the second is the column bounded propererty for the associated Grammian matrix and the third one is a restricted version of the one box condition… ▽ More

Riesz capacities of a set due to Dobiński
Abstract: We study the Riesz $(a,p)$-capacity of the so called Dobiński set. We characterize the values of the parameters $a$ and $p$ for which the $(a,p)$-Riesz capacity of the Dobiński set is positive. In particular we show that the Dobiński set has positive logarithmic capacity, thus answering a question of Dayan, Fernandéz and González. We approach the problem by considering the dyadic analogues of the… ▽ More

Two-weight dyadic Hardy's inequalities
Abstract: We present various results concerning the two-weight Hardy's inequality on infinite trees. Our main scope is to survey known characterizations (and proofs) for trace measures, as well as to provide some new ones. Also for some of the known characterizations we provide here new proofs. In particular, we obtain a new characterization based on a new reverse Hölder inequality for trace measures, and o… ▽ More

Holomorphic semigroups and Sarason's characterization of vanishing mean oscillation
Abstract: It is a classical theorem of Sarason that an analytic function of bounded mean oscillation ($BMOA$), is of vanishing mean oscillation if and only if its rotations converge in norm to the original function as the angle of the rotation tends to zero. In a series of two papers Blasco et al. have raised the problem of characterizing all semigroups of holomorphic functions $(\varphi_t)$ that can replac… ▽ More

The Drury--Arveson space on the Siegel upper half-space and a von Neumann type inequality
Abstract: In this work we study what we call Siegel--dissipative vector of commuting operators $(A_1,\ldots, A_{d+1})$ on a Hilbert space $\mathcal H$ and we obtain a von Neumann type inequality which involves the Drury--Arveson space $DA$ on the Siegel upper half-space $\mathcal U$. Totally null sets and capacity in Dirichlet type spaces
Abstract: In the context of Dirichlet type spaces on the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^d$, also known as Hardy-Sobolev or Besov-Sobolev spaces, we compare two notions of smallness for compact subsets of the unit sphere. We show that the functional analytic notion of being totally null agrees with the potential theoretic notion of having capacity zero. In particular, this applies to the classical Dirichlet space… ▽ More

Quasi-nilpotency of generalized Volterra operators on sequence spaces
Abstract: We study the quasi-nilpotency of generalized Volterra operators on spaces of power series with Taylor coefficients in weighted $\ell^p$ spaces $1<p<+\infty$ . Our main result is that when an analytic symbol $g$ is a multiplier for a weighted $\ell^p$ space, then the corresponding generalized Volterra operator $T_g$ is bounded on the same space and quasi-nilpotent, i.e. its spectrum is $\{0\}.$ Thi… ▽ More

Random interpolating sequences in Dirichlet spaces
Abstract: We discuss random interpolation in weighted Dirichlet spaces $\mathcal{D}_α$, $0\leq α\leq 1$. While conditions for deterministic interpolation in these spaces depend on capacities which are very hard to estimate in general, we show that random interpolation is driven by surprisingly simple distribution conditions. As a consequence, we obtain a breakpoint at $α=1/2$ in the behavior of these rando… ▽ More

Onto Interpolation for the Dirichlet Space and for $H_1(\mathbb{D})$
Abstract: We give a characterization of onto interpolating sequences with finite associated measure for the Dirichlet space in terms of condenser capacity. In the Sobolev space $H_1(\mathbb{D})$ we define a natural notion of onto interpolation and we prove that the same condenser capacity condition characterizes all onto interpolating sequences. As a result, for sequences with finite associated measure, the… ▽ More
