The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) has created a new recruitment strategy, resulting in a significant 65% increase in fall 2024 applications, marking the highest number in over a decade. As of June 27, 7,175 students had applied to UAPB, compared to 4,356 at the same time last year.
“We have utilized a multi-channel approach to our recruitment efforts,” said Dr. Moses V. Goldmon, vice chancellor for enrollment management and student success. “Our team has leaned on data-informed decision-making, leveraged our cross-campus relationships and embraced the synergy created with our marketing partner, The Design Group.”
Interim Chancellor and Provost Andrea Stewart added, “This substantial increase in applications is encouraging, and we anticipate an enrollment increase in fall. Just as important, we remain focused on student success by continuing to provide the quality degree programs and academic support that define our institution and also meet the demands of the future.”
Since joining UAPB in 2022, Goldmon has reorganized the division and implemented a strategic planning and management approach to boost enrollment. Efforts to engage students before enrollment have been enhanced. The Division of Academic Affairs has also introduced new degree programs, attracting more students. These programs include bachelor’s degrees in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, and Hospitality and Tourism Management, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a master’s in Educational Leadership.
“We are committed to ensuring that students can meet their educational goals and graduate with the tools they need to be productive and valuable citizens,” Goldmon added. “The success of our students is the success of our university.”
