First pitcher was a non-Plus version that had been mislabeled by the inventory staff. Replacement was the correct PUR Plus model.I bought the pitcher to use primarily with my single-cup coffee maker. I have been using bottled water, but the pitcher is a less expensive option. Not sure how the water quality and contaminants will differ, but the taste should be better than tap water. Easy set-up, but it does take multiple filling of the pour tray to fill the pitcher. If you're in a hurry then the first filling will take about 15 minutes to filter, so don't expect this to be a fill and pour immediate pitcher. For that you should look for a non-lead filtering version.Update: I have been using the pitcher for a month and the 'Replace Soon/ light is already coming on. Based on my usage of about 12 gallons a month this seems a bit premature.

I really enjoy this water filter. I find it filters with great efficiency and the filters last rather long. It did say that each filter lasts around 2 months but it has been longer than that. I do wish that the container was glass itself and that there was remineralization paired up with it but all-in-all this product is good quality.

This is a great filter for the price and if you’re needing it for coffee percolator and espresso machines. It would be better if it would get below 150 parts per million (ppm) total dissolved solids (tds). Starbucks knows triple filtration is better than purified water for espresso shots.
I have noticed an improvement in espresso flavor with this pur pitcher but needs to be a bit better.
Non the less, I like the taste of the water directly from the pitcher.

As the title says, this water pitcher is form over function. I "upgraded" from a very old Pur pitcher with the non plus filters. The current style looks nice but there are so many flaws it's not worth it. The new one does not hold that much water either in the pre-filter reservoir or in the post filter reservoir. You need to fill the pre-filter reservoir about three times before it will fully fill the bottom section. That wouldn't be so bad if it filtered faster. I would say it takes around thirty minutes to fully filter from the top reservoir to the bottom. I've never seen a water filter take that long. I thought maybe something was wrong with it but it seems to be functioning properly. It's just really really slow. This means you have to repeatedly check on it if you want to have a fully filled bottom reservoir. The worst case scenario is that you run out of filtered water and now you have to wait 30 minutes just to get another glass of water. Also, the design of the lid needs some work. If you have the top reservoir fully filled it is very easy to get water to spill out the top while moving it and spilling down the handle all over your hand and onto the floor. This new design requires you to fill the water through a small lid within the larger lid. They tell you not to get the filter light wet during washing. This is the easy enough to avoid when washing the lid because the mechanism is easily removed. It's a different story when you're filling up the pitcher because you'll inevitably get the filter sensor wet during fill up often enough.

Buy something else. Trust me.

For a few days the Pur Plus filter that came with the pitcher drained the 4-cup tray in 20 minutes. The drain time got longer every day until after 7-10 days it took 4-5 hours to drain the tray. I closely followed online instructions to de-clog the filter (turn upside down, shake vigorously until granules move freely, rinse drain ports for 30 sec cold then 30 sec warm). This reduced drain time to 3-4 hours for one day, then it was back to 6 hours. I call Pur and they sent another filter no charge : ) But the same thing happened. I've seen many similar complaints online. Pur should should stop selling this product that doesn't work as advertised.
