I purchased this to give to a family member as they are in a different country and build a homes. Instead of having to use a tape measure and constantly measuring spending time trying to find someone to measure I purchased this device for them. This allows them quick and accurate information when measuring rooms to ensure it is the proper size, after receiving it, they were very happy to receive it as they no longer had to have a second person with them at all times or figure out how to hold a measuring tape when it was just them alone especially when trying to measure vertically.The screen is a good size the letters are large to be ready easily, and the back light is very bright so as during the day, you can still read what it saying for measurements

I recently got my hands on the RockSeed 165 Feet Digital Laser Distance Meter, and it has become an invaluable tool for my DIY projects. Its precision and ease of use are impressive, especially for someone who frequently tackles various home improvement tasks.

One feature that stands out is the dual bubble levels, which add an extra layer of accuracy to measurements. This makes it much easier to get precise readings, even on uneven surfaces. The backlit LCD is also a huge plus, providing clear visibility in both low-light and bright conditions.

Switching between units of measurement is straightforward with this device. Whether you prefer meters, inches, or feet, the unit switching function is intuitive and quick. This flexibility is something I really appreciate when working on different types of projects.

The Pythagorean mode is another handy feature, allowing for indirect measurements. It’s particularly useful when measuring distances that are not directly accessible. This has saved me a lot of time and effort, making complex measurements much simpler.

While I’ve found it mostly positive, the device's lightweight build can make it feel less durable compared to more heavy-duty tools. However, this hasn’t impacted its performance in my experience.

Using the RockSeed Laser Measure has streamlined my measuring process significantly. It's accurate, easy to use, and packed with features that cater to a variety of measurement needs. Whether I’m measuring for new furniture placement or calculating materials for a project, this laser measure has proven to be a reliable and efficient tool.

This laser really stands up to the big guys! I compared this laser with my Bosch GLM165-27C (an industry standard laser) and was incredibly surprised how close the Mileseey measures to the Bosch. This review includes photos, and you will notice how similar the measurements are. Well within tolerance for this type of measuring tool. I will explain more about my testing later in this review, but for those just looking for a recommendation, I believe this laser will serve any DIY'er or low-profile professional very well for gentle day to day use.

Firstly, lets talk about the good things:
This laser is easy to read, intuitive to use, has great features, and has a good enough build quality that I wouldn't bat an eye at it for this price. The body is a thin, cheap plastic construction that would likely crack or chip away if it were dropped from any higher than 2-3 ft. I believe it's sturdy enough to be used by your average Joe or apprentice. Don't expect this tool to last long if you're not gentle with your tools! It's no Milwaukee!
As for accuracy, the laser is very accurate when compared to a significantly more expensive laser. Not that price truly has any weight on the trustworthiness... I compared this to a Bosch Blaze laser, which in my opinion is an industry-recognized and trusted laser measurement tool. While testing the Mileseey against it, I was seeing very comparable results. Usually within +/- 0.5". That deviance of course is affected proportionately by the distance measured. Get this tool if you don't need laboratory precision, but also can't justify the price of the big boys.
Now for some things this laser is lacking:
It doesn't have an auto-rotate feature for the display. It is only viewable from the upright position. I wouldn't expect this feature at this price point, but it's worth noting.
This laser requires a dimly lit environment, and a relatively reflective surface to shoot the laser on. This does not work well on black/brown surfaces. The ability to reach the advertised 165ft max measurement distance is highly dependent on solid and near-perfect conditions. That is, a reflective (white preferably) surface and dim lighting conditions. This laser does not work well outdoors!
You have to hold this laser steady for a long time at longer distances to get a good read. This is also true for the Bosch, but I find it is much more forgiving than the Mileseey. If not held perfectly still at long distances, you may get an error code that I posted in the pictures to this review.

There is a small, visible laser beam. if you try to measure something outdoors that is any distance, you probably won't be able to see the beam if it requires aiming, as opposed to just hitting a distant wall. That's the only drawback - otherwise a good product for the price.

As a home DIYer this item I initially thought would be a little unnecessary however I can’t believe how much use it’s had in the short time I’ve had it. Hassle free use and works so quickly covering large distances that my 3m tape measure would have been a faff to use. The laser mark is visible in day light and has only been washed out a couple of times when used outside on distances over 4m. The unit fits nicely in the hand and is easily portable.

When first used I checked the distances against a tape measure and the accuracy was within a couple of mm which could easily be an inaccuracy with the tape measure itself.

I can’t comment on battery life but taking AAA batteries won’t be an issue to replace.

So far I’m extremely pleased and think this offers great value for money whether you’re a pro or using for DIY.
