Product Description

If It Still Looks This Good a Year From Now, We Want It Back.

This everyday carry pocket knife is designed just like the tactical version that inspired it—to be used. That's why it’s overbuilt with an open build frame, high carbon stainless steel blade, and the signature Carson Flipper. Admire it. Then put it to work.

The M16 Z everyday carry series was designed by Vine Grove, Kentucky's legendary custom knifemaker and retired Sgt. Major Harold "Kit" Carson. After years of crafting knives for military use, he answered the call when it came to creating one for the civilian population. Now people everywhere have a blade that’s ready for the line of duty in whatever capacity they see fit.

An affordable everyday carry knife, the M16-10KZ features a dual hollow grind tanto-style blade available in plain edge and Triple-Point serrated edges similar to our "Big Dog" tactical M16 models. The result is maximum blade strength and ability to saw through cord, webbing, nets or vegetation quickly. It also comes loaded with a distinctive black frame and hardware with a non-reflective tactically inspired look. But at this price, you won’t feel guilty if you leave it at a job site somewhere as night sets in.

The blade opens easily when you need it most. Just put your finger on the Carson Flipper. Flick your wrist. Then it all locks into place with the automated liner safety that automatically actuates when the blades is open. It’s goodbye folder and hello fixed blade when locked. You’re safe and sound and ready to go.

To close the knife, pull the red buttoned safety lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position. The handle features easy-to-grip glass-reinforced nylon scales and a stainless steel lined InterFrame. Assembled with glass-reinforced nylon back spacers and Torx fasteners as well, the handle is rigid and offers excellent toughness and resistance to solvents. A one position, stainless steel pocket clip rounds out the features. Hold on and be ready to put this knife through anything.

Smaller Than Expected, But Nice

Smaller Than Expected, But Nice
Overall a very nice EDC knife.Pros:1. This is a very well constructed knife. As soon as you take it in your hand you can feel that it is not made from cheap materials. For it's size it has solid weight and feels good in the hand.2. Obviously it will take a very sharp edge as it came out of the box sharp enough to shave hair off of my arm. No idea how long it will hold that edge.3. One-handed opening is certainly capable. It is a little stiff out of the box, but should become more fluid once it gets some use. A drop of oil may assist with this.4. The framelock is sturdy and ensures no risk of the knife accidentally closing during use. I like this type of blade lock quite a bit.Cons:1. Really only one con. This knife is smaller than I expected. I watched the video and apparently the person in the video has smaller hands than me, although I am not a large-hand person. Admittedly I didn't use a ruler to measure how long it would be in comparison to my hand, so that is my fault and that is why I still give the knife 5 stars. Just be aware that if you don't have smaller hands, this may not be the knife for you.

This is a great pocket knife. Larger crickets would be better suited for more industrial jobs or anything that needs a larger blade, so as a warning "only buy if you are using as a carry or small office knife." I love this knife, mainly because of the value. The bang for your buck ratio is great because you get some of crickets patented technology, but in a smaller form factor and low price. I have used this knife for many months and haven't needed to sharpen it, but I might sharpen it soon just to keep up the maintenance. It has multiple uses, but I heeded that warning at the beginning because I've have some friends buy this and be disappointed because it wasn't what they thought. This is great for everyday use and definitely being able to cut anything in daily society, but if you hunt or work in construction or contracting, I would recommend a larger knife; my friends bought bigger ones and were much happier. Although, if you can deal with the size, this can be used in most ways, it's just not ideal.

Quality and Value
-This is just too true for this knife. All crickets are high quality, they are the BMW of knives and I've never had one break (even after questionable uses). Then the value is amazing here on amazon. This knife is $50, and they sell it for $23! Then you have the fact that it comes with the tango tip, the true hilt lock, and the flipper nub. If you check their website, most of those knives with similar systems are going for $100 or more. So to have a smaller form, same technology, and only be $20 or so, that is just unprecedented value. The flipper is used to shoot the blade of like a switch blade. Then, when open, the flipper acts as a finger guard. I also like that this one only has one flipper rather than two as on bigger knives, it seemed to be unnecessary in this size. The blade with not go dual for what seems like years, and the handle fits pretty well in the hand for a sub-5" knife.

In conclusion, this is the perfect knife for anyone who would like a smaller form with amazing features. Basically, if you are in the market for a poket knife, congrats because you've found it, now enjoy the rest of your day. It will last a lifetime, cost $23, you will never need another knife, and this knife wants to be used so be ready to do some cutting. People who buy something and then keep buying more should avoid this, wait until you've bought 15 other knives and then buy this one, you'll notice that you've stopped wasting money on knives. Buy it if this is the last knife you have to buy, or just want a really good pocket knife.

This knife has the famous CRKT quality and unique doubly secure locking feature. It is very lightweight but surprisingly strong and the blade was very sharp right out of the package. Once locked open to close it you need to pull the red dot locking lever back and simultaneously move the liner lock aside. All of that happens with one hand. Opening it is fast and easy. Just pull the stud and the blade flips out and locks. Again with just one hand. The blade is substantial and nearly as long as a large folder weighing twice as much. Altogether these features make this one of the best knives to keep with you. My only caveat is I don't think 440c stainless has the edge retention of some of the better knife steel. The good news is that the blade is pretty stout and occasional sharpening is something most of us are willing to do. Still, I would happily pay a little more for a high end steel and the amount used to make a blade this size probably doesn't cost that much.

I have owned one CRKT EDC before and it was an amazing knife, best I have ever owned. It was the M16-13Z which was awesome! It had a bigger handle and I thought this was the same size....THIS KNIFE HAS A SMALL HANDLE. PERFECT FOR SMALLER HANDS (WOMEN?), but I am 6ft 1in and my hands are a bit big for this knife. I loved it so much though that instead of returning it I gave it as a present.

You will not get a better quality knife for the price! It is the perfect EDC (just make sure you get the blade you want, spear point or tanto). I gave it as a gift to my girlfriend who is an art major. I gave her the tanto blade bc it is perfect for doubling as a razor blade/box cutter.

For the record, I like these knives so far because of the blade quality, make quality, AUTO LAWKS safety feature (safest folding knife out there with a double locking safety mechanism, and the general feel and look. It feels and looks like a gentleman/ladies knife, but works like an EDC knife should.

I ordered two more, the M16-13ZLEK and the M16-14SFG for myself because they have bigger handles and will double as my day hiking knife (because they are larger and can double as fixed blades in a tough spot. My friend has owned this size before and it was a GREAT tool! (he is a landlord/works construction).

4.0 out of 5 stars Gut für den Preis

Excellent produit, excellente marque.
