Kershaw Clash Knives

A top choice for an affordable, all-purpose, utility, powerful Kershaw knife, the Clash series of knives is a three-inch blade just right for tackling almost any task. Attack boxes, heavy plastic or rope with the big bellied blade with just the slightest hint of recurve to improve slicing without being hard to resharpen. The Clash opens with SpeedSafe Assisted Opening for safe and secure one-handed blade deployment. Thanks to the ambidextrous flipper, both left and right-handed users can put the Clash’s awesomeness and toughness straight to work.

High-Performance Steel

A budget friendly, reliable, top-of-the-line Chinese produced steel, 8Cr13MoV steel has carbon and slightly less nickel for hardness and edge retention. Kershaw’s precision heat treated 8Cr13MoV steel strongly takes and holds an edge and offers wear resistance that can withstand damage from both abrasive and adhesive wear. 8Cr13MoV is a value blade steel featuring high performing characteristics.

Attractive Blade Coating

Kershaw’s Bead-Blasted finish enhances a knife’s aesthetics and complements its end-use. The high-tech finish is achieved by applying a mixture of fine media onto the blade’s steel under high pressure, creating a smooth, non-reflective matte surface. Fine media includes glass and aluminum oxide beads that allow color variation and optimal performance results for an overall stunning effect.

Fast Deployment

Using a torsion bar to move the blade out of the handle, Kershaw’s revolutionary SpeedSafe Assisted Opening system enables smooth, secure, fast one-handed blade deployment. Apply manual pressure to the flipper or thumb stud with a light push or pull back to overcome resistance of the torsion bar, and the blade opens smoothly and locks into place for confident handling without premature closure.

Secure Locking System

With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle.

One-Handed Flipper

Knives with SpeedSafe open have two options for one-handed blade deployment. To activate the smooth, instant open, user can push a thumbstud or press a flipper. The flipper on SpeedSafe assisted knives is easy to operate by both left- and right-handed users. And, once blade swings open and locks into place, flipper either disappears for aesthetics or remains visible for added finger protection.

Durable Handle

Very tough, able to take heavy-duty hard use, and versatile, glass-filled nylon handle material is a nylon synthetic polymer reinforced with glass threads for increased strength. Glass-filled nylon has incredible stiffness for a secure and stable grip, great ability to withstand heat, and dimensional stability combined with excellent wear resistance.

Convenient Pocketclip

Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. The reversible pocketclip allows user to choose to carry knife tip-up or tip-down or to choose on which side knife carries. The user may select either a preferred tip position or a preferred carry side.

Product Description

The Clash goes dark side in the black Clash. In addition to a drop-point blade, with just the right amount of belly recurve for excellent slicing ability, the black Clash also has partial serration so that it can laugh at tough materials like webbing or rope. The Clash is one of our most popular knives. Get your hands on this task-ready pocketknife and you’ll quickly understand why. This Knife Was Like a Brother to Me

This Knife Was Like a Brother to Me
This knife helped raise me.I purchased this when I was 16 years old as my first-ever pocket knife for my first job. I was working at an autoshop as a glorified broom boy, and I needed something that I could use one-handed, while working underneath a car, while trying to look as tough as possible, while everything was on fire (basically). This knife took it all like a champ. This was my EDC for over 4 years. It skinned animals, cut birthday cakes, was used as a prybar, made a great surgical scalpel, and ultimately, became a friend. I disassembled it multiple times for cleaning and repair, and while I did take good care of this tool, I have to credit its build quality; this knife had an undeniable will to survive. No matter what oil, snow, fire, or dirt that I threw at this knife it always, flawlessly, performed its duty.Throughout those impressionable 4 years between 16-20 years old this knife stayed with me at graduation speeches, hunting trips, ambulance rides, and college moves. It watched my first (and last) dates unfold from my back pocket. During so many of those pivotal life moments where you are taught an important life lesson, this knife somehow always found a role to play. This Kershaw served me as more than just a knife, it was a mentor. Outside of the gym, it was a part of almost everything masculine, grueling, or dangerous that I did.Which is what makes this review so heartbreaking to write. Because after four honorable years of steadfast service and an unblemished operational record, I have finally pushed this knife past its breaking point. After attempting to paint my own car, this knife was caught in the crossfire of a heavy coat of primer- sealing the knife into its own grey casket. But do not jump to the erroneous conclusion that this knife has given up on me yet. Far from it. Covered in chunks of grey paint primer, looking like a seasoned warrior's greying hair, this knife still clings to life.Although the switch mechanism is slow and gritty, it nevertheless unsheaths itself every time with a "get some" attitude.Although chipped and dull, the blade still screams to serve, and will not hesitate to cut- however ragged and harsh the resulting slash may be.Although hurt, the knife does not quit. And so in its death, this knife teaches me one final lesson... never, ever, give up.I will be buying another Kershaw Clash Black Serrated Pocketknife. But I needed to write this review first, to grieve.I will never forget. Thank you, Kershaw.

Best knife I've ever owned in over 35 years of owning pocket knives. Period.

If you must know more than that, here it is: I was a Gerber knife fan for years, but I realize now that I just didn't know any better. Several years ago, my girlfriend bought me a Kershaw folding knife with a built-in driver with #1 and #2 flat and phillips drill bits. It was cheap, but it was utilitarian and served it's purpose. It was a $10 sale item at W@L-M@rt that she had put in my stocking for Xmas. Anyway, it quickly replaced my Gerber because the thing was razor sharp out of the box and held it's edge much longer than the Gerber I was always having to sharpen. Anyway, the belt clip on the cheap Kershaw was coming loose after a couple of years of regular use (still not bad for $10!) so I started searching for a replacement, a Kershaw of course, and I found this
Kershaw 1605CKTST Clash Folding Knife with SpeedSafe (2-Step Serration)  on Amazon...I always buy a knife with a partially serrated blade because it makes the knife much more versatile for different cutting needs. This thing has not disappointed.

The SpeedSafe open assist is amazing! It opens lightning fast with the push of the very well placed flipper, located on the back spine of the knife. Works MUCH better than the little knob that most "quick opening" knifes have on the blade itself.

Like I said, it holds an edge better than (pretty much) any knife I have ever owned, especially for the $30 I paid for it.

It is easy to sharpen. I use the
Smith's PP1 Pocket Pal Multifunction Sharpener  that I bought here on AMazon. It was cheap and gets the job done, and has the taped diamond rod for sharpening the serrations.

It has a decent weight to it, and feels like a quality product.

The belt clip works great, and has never loosened on me. I carry this knife with me EVERYWHERE that I go (except airports of course) and use the clip on the front left pocket of my jeans, even when riding my motorcycle.

I can't imagine life without my Kershaw Clash. I use it every day and it has yet to let me down. If I ever lose it (I HAVE actually lost it once already, but had another on the way using Amazon Prime that SAME day!) I would buy another without hesitation. I cannot recommend this knife enough to those of you in the market for one.

BUY IT.

Went looking for a good everyday pocket knife and came across Kershaw. One knife by them that I kept seeing was the “Clash” along with thousands of reviews building its case so I bought one. Seller shipped fast and easy. Very happy with what I got. “Shave sharp” right out of the box as advertised. It looks hard. Feels comfortable in the hand. Very ergonomic grip. Sturdy and strong. Feels like it will last. Locks open AND closes up nice and tight. Blade deploys fast and strong with that Speedsafe system with a little extra jump on the spring action, so watch your palm if you open with 2 hands. Well balanced handle:blade size and weight ratios. Versatile serrated section. Clip holds tight and secure. Light enough that if you wear jeans or cargo shorts you forget you’re carrying it, but heavy enough to feel like it’ll do its job. Great knife for its price range. I use it almost everyday. Bought 2 more for my dad and my son.

Possibly the best pocket knife I have ever owned. Perfect for an EDC.....just be sure you use the clip and don't put it fully down in your pocket. You could end up hurting yourself. No seriously. Read on.

The SpeedSafe Assisted Opening mechanism is sweeeeeet. However, I could see this causing accidental openings (& injury) if you put it down in your pocket, so don't do that. This knife is DESIGNED to use the clip to attach to your pocket. This is specifically to prevent accidental opening and injury. So please, just use this one like it is designed to be used and be safe. If you want a knife to insert way down deep in your pocket, get one without a speed-assisted opening mechanism.

BC I'm telling you now, this thing is beyond razor sharp. Holds it's edge very well too, and comes with lifetime free sharpening from the Mfg. But you don't want to chance this baby opening without your permission while way down in your pocket, down near....vital areas. Just don't do it. The knife comes with an instruction sheet. PLEASE read it before you toss it. Honestly, don't be that guy (or gal) who thinks he knows everything and ends up slicing something important simply bc you are an idiot.

My mother loves a good pocket knife to keep in her car console and one in her purse. I would not buy this for her to keep in for either of those places. I would buy her one without assisted opening. Any knife with assisted opening will be extremely dangerous to have laying deep in a pocket or purse, simply bc they can and at some point, will open. So when you reach in for the knife, you will eventually find an open and very sharp blade. So again, don't do that. don't buy this knife unless you will be smart and carry it wisely & safely. I made a little "pocket" on the inside wall of my car's middle console, just big enough to slip this into and keep it from accidentally opening. Having a good sharp utility knife around is always a good idea. This knife is perfect for my needs and has been used several times a week for one thing or another.

And don't knock this product for being designed the way it is. Honestly, you have so many great EDC pocket knife options, each one designed for a different use and purpose. This one is designed to be worn a certain way, and it works very well....as long as you have a few live brain cells and actually use them. So get it, use it CORRECTLY, and love it. This is an awesome, beautiful, well designed EDC clip-pocket knife.
