Wow, this PI Premium Digital Tire Inflator was the answer for me!! With my tires way low on psi -- and the arrival of the unit this afternoon -- I couldn't use it fast enough. When my warning light came on stating low tire air pressure a few days ago, I could not find a gas station air pump that was working.
I do live in the outskirts of Chicago -- 40 miles west and today was the last day it would be above 0 degrees. IT IS COLD IN CHICAGO-LAND and tires lose air quickly when you leave Summer/Fall and go into the Winter months.
Knowing that tomorrow's temperature would be under 0 degrees in my garage, I immediately read the very clear instructions that came with the unit and proceeded to handle filling all four tires. As the instructions state, do know what voltage your car's power outlet can handle, along with how much psi is needed for your particular car model. You can usually find that tire information on the insides of the door panel. I drive a 2013 Kia Optima and verified I had 12.0 volts which is what this unit requires. FOLLOW THE SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS and you will have all four tires, if all need air, completed in about 10 minutes or less -- as was the case for me.
One important instruction was to insert the power cable into the 12V and THEN START the car's engine. Seeing that instruction -- in the simple, easy-to-read pamphlet provided -- was important since many individuals might start the car's engine and then insert the power cable. That may cause fuse to blow. I'm not sure on this point -- but I always follow the important instructions when it comes to car engine's and power outlets -- VERY IMP!
I cannot believe how they have improved on the various features of Tire Inflators. For the last 10 years, I utilized an air inflator that ran on a battery and had to be maintained often i.e., keeping the unit charged. The unit finally "died on me" after ten years of good service. It was time for me to convert to the "digital" tire inflator...smile...and it is going to make my life so much easier. With this current P.I. inflator, once you set the psi -- which for my car was 33psi, it automatically saves that setting after you fill the first tire. When you get to the "set" button, it will give you the various measurement units. For me, I wanted "psi" and when it appeared, I then set up my 33psi for air tire pressure. It automatically shuts off air inflator once it gets to the setting you input. Once your tire(s) is inflated, you then shut the air compressor button to "off" and remove power plug from the 12 volt unit (cigarette lighter).
IMPORTANT: All of this is contained within the simple and well-written instructions on third page entitled, OPERATION INSTRUCTONS." Read it so you know first-hand that you are following instructions correctly.
