With what some see as a breathing corpse as a candidate and that breathing corpse adamant about remaining in the race despite abysmal polling, the only chance Democrats seem to have in November is to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in the hopes of souring voters on the prospect of voting for him.
The one consistent in this campaign is that truth is irrelevant, and on that note, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who starred in The Chinese Spy That Shagged Me, is joining those trying to tie Trump to Project 2025, a 900-page policy proposal document from the Heritage Foundation.
Taking fearmongering to a whole different level — a Democratic specialty — Swalwell posted on X: “What is Project 2025? It’s forced marriage. The backers of Project 2025 want forced marriage. And Donald Trump supports them.”
What is Project 2025?
It’s forced marriage.
The backers of Project 2025 want forced marriage. And Donald Trump supports them.

Project 2025 outlines four basic conservative goals: Restoring the family as the centerpiece of American life; dismantling the administrative state; defending the nation’s sovereignty and borders; and securing God-given individual rights to live freely.
Also known as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project, the think tank wish list also slashes the left’s beloved social programs.
The left is cherry-picking through the document and mischaracterizing various proposals to use it as fodder for the 2024 election cycle, with Biden using it to attack Trump.
“It was written for him, by those closest to him. Project 2025 should scare every single American. It would give Trump limitless power over our daily lives and let him use the presidency to enact ‘revenge’ on his enemies, ban abortion nationwide and punish women who have an abortion, and gut the checks and balances that make America the greatest democracy in the world. It’s extreme and dangerous,” the 81-year-old president claimed in a statement over the weekend.
In an attempt to get ahead of the attacks, Trump posted a message on Truth Social on Friday morning saying he has “nothing to do with” Project 2025.
“I know nothing about Project 2025,” Trump wrote. “I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”
As for Swalwell, he has no authority to cast judgments on anyone… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
