Rachel A. Robinson Bio



Rachel A. Robinson is a corporate leader, activist, professor, nurse, wife, and mother. Robinson and her husband, Jackie, were major leaders in the civil rights movement.

Robinson founded the Jackie Robinson Foundation, a not-for-profit organization providing educational and leadership opportunities to minority students. Previously, she incorporated the Jackie Robinson Development Corporation, which provided housing for low- and moderate-income families.

In 2005, Robinson accepted the Congressional Medal of Honor from President Bush on behalf of Jackie Robinson. She herself is the recipient of numerous awards, including twelve honorary doctorates.
