Great view, well renovated lobby and pool, but some areas of service need addressing

I booked a standard basic room as part of the Winter Indulgence Package. I was unable to get a room upgrade which was part of the package (dependent on availability) - I was offered a two Queen bed ocean view for $133 or a terrace room for over $600. I would have liked to think that the hotel would have been happy to do the $133 upgrade as part of their included room upgrade deal. The $100 credit for Bistro Manly was also confusing to most staff, the consensus answer at the end was it would be automatically applied to the Bistro Manly bill at checkout. ** I had to do a quick check out and have noticed that the $100 was not applied. I emailed Accor immediately through the app and hopefully will get this sorted out tomorrow. ** The room itself was presentable as long as you don’t look too closely at the detail - the bathroom is a bit old and gross, e.g. mould trapped in the glass doors and dirty grout. Please note the shower in the standard room is very small and I can envisage a lot of people having difficulty comfortably showering. The pool area is lovely, but the pool is small. It was winter and quiet, but with warmer weather and more than two families with kids at once, it would definitely very rowdy. Staff at the reception were generally friendly but did not provide a seamless experience, I had to chase them for things including the cocktail vouchers and the possibility of a room upgrade. Many elements of service were great - friendly bell service, great staff at Bistro Manly, hotel staff always holding doors and lifts for guests, and some of the quickest housekeeping service I’ve seen (for a missing toothbrush).

Why can’t all Hotels be like this!

After a long haul flight on arrival our bags were whisked away to the room as we checked in quickly with minimal q,s and just the useful info. The rooms are modern and very well appointed, great beds, excellent bathrooms and fabulous view of the beach. Going off to sleep with the gentle noise of the waves…….. Breakfast had full selection of all could wish for hot and cold, personally served coffee and cooked eggs or omelettes. Gorgeous roof top pool with stunning views also all around. Our only regret was not staying longer. The staff throughout were always cheerful and helpful. Thoroughly recommended and super value for such quality and location.

Most certainly the best hotel we have stayed in

Visiting Sydney was on our bucket list - staying at Manly Pacific was also there. We were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by staff at the reception and upgraded to a superior room with my wife ans daughter. There was an issue with the air conditioning. After failing to fix it, the staff quickly took the decision to change our room to another floor - which was hugely appreciated and showed the responsiveness of the staff. The room we were given was very spacious and was overlooking the ocean - what a view over Manly beach and its iconic pines. It was truly a blessing to wake up there for 4 mornings. Breakfast was served as a buffet with a wide selection, including for gluten intolerant persons. The bar makes amazing coffees and has a wide selection of beers on taps. The hotel organised few times per week some kid activities (drawings, movie night, …). We didn’t try the pool but went there for a drink. The hotel has been recently and superbly renovated. Overall, a fantastic stay thanks to a fantastic location and fantastic staff.

As usual fantastic stay. Love the freshly squeezed juice machine at breakfast, and the kind way my dietary preferences were catered to. I got an upgrade to a seaview room, which was much appreciated. Staff at the hotel all very helpful and friendly. I recommend rooms higher up in hotel, as I find them the quietest, particularly on weekends when there can be events such as weddings, with music and such like on the ground floor. I like it that I can easily park under the hotel. I am an Accor Plus Platinum member, and very much liked the gift on arrival. The drink vouchers being integrated into the Accor ALL.com app is clever too, and gives me one less thing I need to think about when travelling. After the refurbishment the hotel has a nice new feel to it.

$600 for a motel room! View is beautiful but $600 for nothing more than a motel room is abysmal! Cheap vinyl floors, no bath, nothing more than a motel experience. In room dining - supposedly open until 10.30 - ordered prior to this but they called 20 minutes later to tell me they couldn’t find a chef!! So, the duty manager went into the kitchen to see what she could ‘cook’ for me. Really second rate…a motel experience and motel quality. $600 for nothing but disappointment. Worst thing is - I’m a Diamond member!!! Imagine if I wasn’t! Will definitely never stay here and recommend you seriously consider other options. Dismal experience at best!!!
