The American Society of Addiction Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Physicians: The American Society of Addiction Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nurses: This activity awards 13.75 Nursing contact hours.

Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, ASAM is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Social workers completing this course receive 13.75 general continuing education credits.

DR. FREDERICK B. GLASER AWARD
LEADERS IN THE FIELD OF ADDICTION MEDICINE
This award was developed to honor one of the pioneers of Addiction Medicine in North Carolina. Dr. Frederick Glaser demonstrated a commitment to this field of medicine from early in his career.
He received his M.D. from Harvard University in 1959 and then served his residency at the U.S. Public Health Service Narcotics Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Glaser went on to have a distinguished career in the field of substance abuse, including the study of opiates and alcohol.
He has held a variety of positions in the United States and Canada, serving as the director of the University of Michigan Substance Abuse Research Center from 1989 to 1994 before becoming Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Division on Substance Abuse at the East Carolina University School of Medicine.
