A Heat Advisory is in place until 11 p.m. Wednesday for the Sonoma coastal range - North Bay interior mountains and valleys, Santa Cruz mountains, and the Santa Clara Valley including San Jose. The advisory also includes Lake County - The Carquinez Strait and the Delta.
Daytime temperatures will reach 90 to 100 degrees. Overnight lows will remain upper 50s to 70s.
An Excessive Heat Warning is in place until 11 p.m. Wednesday for the East Bay interior valleys, the hills and eastern Santa Clara hills.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected with afternoon high temperatures from the upper 90s to the low 100s. Far inland could reach 104 degrees. Overnight lows will be warm in the 60s and 70s.
Heat-related illnesses are possible. The hottest day will be Tuesday.
The ridge will strengthen through Wednesday. This will not be nearly as hot as early July and records are not expected.
Coastal Flood Advisory is in place until 2 a.m. Tuesday. High tide will be at 12:48 a.m. with 6.6 feet. Low lying areas and parking lots could flood.

The Look Ahead
The ridge (heat) will begin to shift east late Wednesday bringing some cooling Thursday, but more widespread cooling inland is coming on Friday.
Below average highs are on tap for the first part of the weekend, then slightly warmer Sunday and Monday.
