SoCal will see relief from hot temperatures over the weekend
Southern California will continue to see hot temperatures on Thursday, but relief is coming over the weekend.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California will continue to see hot temperatures for one more day, but relief is coming over the weekend.

An excessive heat warning remains in place until Thursday night, primarily impacting desert communities in northern Los Angeles County and out to the Inland Empire.

Los Angeles and Orange counties on Thursday will see a high of 90 degrees, but will cool to the low 80s over the weekend and into early next week.

The valleys and the Inland Empire will see an average high of 100 on Thursday, dropping to the low 90s by Saturday.

At the beaches on Thursday, morning fog will give way to sunshine and a high of 77 degrees by the afternoon.

Mountains will be sunny and hot with a high of 85 Thursday and a 10% chance of thunderstorms. The weekend will cool to the upper 70s.

Desert communities will see a high of 109 with a 10% chance of thunderstorms. Deserts will drop to the mid 90s over the weekend.
