Car Collector’s House

The former home of an antique car collector sits deep in the woods of rural Georgia. The house is a bit of a mystery, however, according to property records, the home dates to the early 20th century, although it appears it could be much older. It has a unique layout with attached rooms rather than a central hallway. In the kitchen, there is a calendar dated 2008 that gives some indication of when the property was last occupied. In the small, detached garage behind the house are a Packard and Cadillac sedan, as well as several old Buicks.

    1. It certainly looks like they just walked away. I know some antique car dealers that would make those older cars great street rods. What a waste. I wish those cars could talk! And I wish the house to talk. Oh my! He has a story and a good one.

  1. The house is amazing! It is also sad, it looks as if life was interrupted with so many things left behind. It would be fascinating to see a picture before it was abandoned.

  2. The layout of this house is quite interesting. I take it that even in 2008 and before with the last occupants, there were no interests in updating. The baby carriage caught my eye as you can imagine how old it is. But then again, everything in the home is quite old. My guess is the last occupants chose to live in frozen time. I’m particularly fascinated with the design, the layout of this house as I’ve never seen anything like quite like it. Sad to see everything was left behind and laid in ruin.

  3. If there’s a calendar that’s dated 1980 that gives some indication of when the house was last occupied, I noticed there’s a ticket on what looks like a dresser for the Georgia Tech ACC champions that’s dated October 12, 1991. This may also give an indication of when the house was last occupied. Just saying.

  5. Oh wow… How sad! Anytime I see homes left with furniture and belongings I always wonder what happened to the owners and why they’d just leave everything. And to have no family to come clean it up and claim some of the items? So sad.
Those cars are so gorgeous. I’m sure some of them could be restored and be worth a LOT of money!
