The 2024 Bookeaters’ Bash

You’re invited to 826 Valencia’s biggest fundraiser of the year, the Bookeaters’ Bash! This inspiring benefit event supports our free writing, tutoring, and publishing programs, which serve more than 5,000 students in under-resourced communities in San Francisco.

This year’s event promises an engaging program featuring 826 Valencia student authors, alumni, special guest Daveed Diggs, and a captivating “raise the paddle” fundraiser.  Our keynote speaker, Gilberto Silva Cortes, is an 826 Valencia alumni now studying Computer Science and minoring in Creative Writing at Stanford. Guests will also receive a signed, limited-edition poster from Dave Eggers.

We encourage guests to carpool, ride-share, or use public transportation if possible, as Bimbo’s 365 Club does not offer designated parking. The venue is also accessible by the 28 or 30 bus and cable car.

 The Bookeaters’ Bash is a cocktail attire event, and there will be a coat check available at the venue. Once you arrive, feel free to snack, sip, and enjoy our program featuring 826 Valencia Executive Director Bita Nazarian. The dinner reception (including vegan and gluten-free options) will be during the first hour of the event.
