President Joe Biden sent a letter to congressional Democrats, urging unity within the party and reaffirming his commitment to his candidacy. In the letter, Biden emphasized the need to defeat the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, former President Donald Trump, in the upcoming election.

"We have 42 days to the Democratic Convention and 119 days to the general election," Biden wrote. "Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It's time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump."

Biden's letter comes at a time when the Democratic Party is facing internal divisions, with some members calling for him to step aside following a lackluster public debate performance. Despite these calls, Biden remains defiant, stating that he will only step aside if the "Lord Almighty" tells him to.

In the letter, Biden also addressed concerns about his capability and chances of winning reelection. He stated, "I wouldn't be running again if I did not absolutely believe I was the best person to beat Donald Trump in 2024."
