About Salt Lake City, UT Shopping
Salt Lake is one of the biggest cities in the Rocky Mountains. With an estimated population of over 2 million people, the Wasatch Front is a regional epicenter of shopping. In fact, people drive from different states to take advantage of the city's retail bounty. The City Creek Center, a brand-new addition to Salt Lake City's downtown, offers an enormous collection of shops large and small. If you're into malls, you can check out the attractive, outdoor Gateway Mall, just west of downtown, Trolley Square, just south of downtown, or head to the southern end of the valley to shop at the giant South Towne Center in Sandy or the classic Fashion Place Mall in Murray. Those into indie store and boutique shops would enjoy a trip to the Sugarhouse neighborhood.
