In a quiet central street, with friendly staff, the Regency bed and Breakfast in Nottingham place is a good place to stay if you're looking for a relatively cheap central location. Rooms are quite small, but many travellers are used to that in London and use it only as a base to see the capital. The breakfasts are also praised and if you want to stay in Marylebone at prices that won't break the bank then this is the place to be.

As with many other bed and breakfast spots in London, this hotel resides in a tall London town house, just behind Victoria Station. If you want cheapish and central and free broadband then this could be the place for you. There is not a particular style involved here, and the staircases give the impression of a seaside boarding house perhaps fallen on hard times. Checked table cloths are in the breakfast room, and some guests have complained about hard springs in the beds and dirty carpets. Others however have been very positive, and the central location will work for many people more interested in getting out and about rather than the 5 star quality of their sheets.
Guests love the location of the Edward Lear Hotel, right in the heart of the West End, behind Marble Arch. This is another historic building, so no elevator for reaching the higher floors. Some say rooms are small, but most agree it's charming, and you don't come to London to stay inside your room anyway. This provides central London living at slightly reduced (compared to the five star hotels nearby) prices.
The Parkwood hotel at Marble Arch is more of a hotel than a bed and breakfast place. That said, it comes in the category of 'small hotel' and its Georgian town house exterior gives the illusion that you're staying at a friend's very expensive and elegant place in London. The building is listed, so they are not allowed to install a lift, which means that all bedrooms are walk up, so book a lower floor room if stairs are difficult for you. The warm and helpful owners greet everyone who comes through the doors and it's been described as a pleasant oasis in Central London.

Little Orchard bed and breakfast is in Redhill in Surrey. Just 15 minutes from Gatwick airport, this would be great for exploring the very pretty south east of the country, just below London. Fast train services along these lines will also ferry you to London, or down to the coast at Brighton or Hastings just as easily. The Little Orchard B&B is in a beautifully maintained detached house set in well manicured grounds. There is a heated swimming pool available to use in the summer months, flat screen TV and evening meals on request. Self catering accommodation is also offered.
Ditton Lodge hotel is an elegant Edwardian, family run bed and breakfast hotel. It's just near Surbiton in Surrey and there are quick links into the centre of town from the nearby station. All rooms are en suite, and you can relax either in their fully licenced bar, or in the very pretty garden out back, giving all your party something to do even if one member is here on business. The dining room / breakfast room has pretty touches like an old english oak settle stacked with china. All rooms have wifi access and they can even arrange small meeting rooms, or the sitting room if you have to meet with clients.
Middle Cottage bed and breakfast is again, outside London, so make sure that this is what you want before booking here. That said, it's situated on the beautiful Teddington Lock on the river Thames, and is great if you want to pop along to the Hampton Court Flower Show, or visit some of London's most genteel sites, west of the Capital. Richmond, Twickenham and Kingston upon Thames are all nearby. Rugby at Twickenham, the golf, the deer park and great walks in Richmond and lovely twee high street shopping and independent villagey type shops, restaurants and wine bars are dotted throughout these outer London districts. You can even go to the theatre or cinema here, so as long as you've seen the central London sites, this could be just the ticket for those wanting a quieter time whilst near London.
Riverview Cottage is everything you could imagine in a lovely olde English B and B with all mod cons of course. The one thing you need to remember is that this is NEAR London, ie in Shepperton, and not IN London. Great if you want a bit of rural calm served up with your fried egg, not so great if you want to roll back from the pub late, and forgot that the last train was at 11pm. Once you've checked that its location would suit you, then you're spectacularly near the aforementioned Shepperton studios, site of many British films, including James Bond, Hampton Court Palace, the River Thames, further up stream and all things lovely in the London suburbs.
Bed and Breakfast Belgravia is clean, stylish and just like being in a small hotel, which essentially is what it is. B and B Belgravia offers free bike hire so you can swish around London without worrying about getting stuck in traffic jams. They also offer a full cooked breakfast, tea and coffee 24 hours a day, and a lovely private garden out back to enjoy reading the newspapers and relaxing before setting out to see the sights.
