About Victory Monument

Victory Monument is not visited by many tourists, which is a pity because it is a great place to experience the real Bangkok, not to mention take in some great eating and nightlife options, at far less price than elsewhere in town.
See & Do
Victory Monument is not noted for attractions, however the monument could be considered an attraction itself, drawing many photographers at night to photograph it and the surrounding traffic arteries from the Skytrain Bridge up above. This is one of Bangkok's best spots for people watching, as
Eat
Cheap and incredibly tasty eats are the big draw at Victory Monument. The street stalls that set up around the monument are famed for their kuay jab soup and khao man gai chicken rice amongst others, while over on Soi Rang Nam, one can choose from an array of Isaan, southern, and other types of cuisine. Just find a spare table amongst the crowds and dig in. For some of the best Isaan food in all Bangkok, the nondescript Lung Yai is just down the road and is one of the best local draws in town.
Party
Victory Monument really comes into its own at night, with a selection of really great bars and pubs playing live music to relax in and rock the night away. Saxophone is one of Bangkok's oldest jazz pubs, with fantastic live jazz, rock, and blues bands, and the nearby Raintree Pub is the top spot to catch "songs of life" Thai folk music.
