If you love the outdoors, Lakewood is the perfect neighborhood to visit. Take the entire family to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, one of Dallas' best attractions. This attractions boasts year-wide seasonal exhibits, including a huge autumn festival that features life-sized fairy tales houses made out of pumpkins. During the summer months, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens has outdoor concerts. If your family dog travels with you, take him/her to the dog park at the lovely White Rock Lake.
Eat
Lakewood has all types of restaurants, ideal for any craving. If you're in the mood for Tex-Mex, go to Matt's Rancho Martinez Mexican Restaurant. Another neighborhood favorite is Dixie House, known for its fried chicken plates. If you have a sweet tooth, Lakewood has a ton of locally-owned bakeries, including Casa Linda Bakery, which is known for cookies and Petit Fours.
