This famous little alley still hasn't lost it's charm with visitors, and continues to be a haven for those seeking nightlife and adventure. Big dreams might be started at Miss Kellie's Karaoke Bar or Lonnie's Western World where amateurs with star quality appear nightly. One of the most entertaining spots is Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar where various live bands give tribute to the best of New Orleans' style club scene. Familiar tunes, insanely gifted players and the dance floor are a winning combination for dancing all night.
From the outside these two side-by-side buildings don't look like much (and they don't inside either). But, for the live music and the non-stop fun, both are always packed late night with 20-30 something's (including a regular stream of country celebs) really letting their hair down.
Every night here is a different experience, from a socialite theme on Thursdays to a full-blown dance party on Saturdays. On Friday nights, the vibe is always changing, which is why those seeking diverse entertainment love this downtown nightclub.
Stacie's expert tip: Dress to impress, there's a dress code (jeans acceptable) that's strictly enforced.
In this 2-story restaurant and bar in the Gulch, evenings are set around live performances catering to those seeking a bit of escape from the country scene. Jazz, blues and a variety of popular dance music from top performers are always on the roster.
Stacie's expert tip: Grab a seat in one of the big, leather chairs in the front section of the bar
Set just across from the Honky Tonks on Broadway, this trailer park themed mecca of food, entertainment and energy is always a good time. American comfort food is served up on picnic tables and dcor looks like something from a CMT reality show. The music is loud, fun and the beer is always ice-cold. Shots are thrown back, big whistles are given for the band and famous artists are known for jumping up on the stage to join the party.
Since opening in late 2012, this duo set in the same building under co-management has completely shaken up the late night scene. On one side, a large, two-story specialty beer and pizza hang with live music every night (and weekend afternoons) draws hundreds seeking a bit of Southern rock and roll and soulful bands. The pizza keeps the crowd coming back. In Slider House, the open kitchen serves up hundreds of slider varieties with too many types of beers in a can to count. Open late night, it's often the refuge for hungry partiers on weekends seeking great food to keep going until early morning.
Things here are private, perfect and well, past tense. The throwback to a prohibition era luxury speakeasy, this cocktail haven draws the most discriminating palettes for precise libations served in a classic fashion. For an additional treat, be sure and order the donuts, a house favorite.
Stacie's expert tip: Try their Elvis panini, which was featured on the Food Network's "The Best Thing I Ever Ate."
A little bit of Asian influence is what patrons are seeking for an elegant but lively night out in the city. With varied areas, the city's best patio and dozens of private gathering places, it really does offer something for everyone. From the unique Sake Bar to the double sided central bar surrounded by round booths; every seat in the house is good. The food is also why so many of the trendsetters flock here. Fresh sushi and an extensive menu of small and share plates keep things interesting, and the drinks flowing.
Paige's expert tip: Order a signature martini or a featured glass of bubbly
Since opening late summer 2013, this Midtown bar has been the favorite of a crowd diverse in age and interests. Located on the ground level of the Adelicia high-rise residence tower (owners include Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon members, Blake and Miranda, Kelly Clarkson among others). The focus in the eclectic, throwback environment is on premium craft cocktails, and they do it very well. Patterned after their original Tippler below Chelsea Market in NYC, they are serious about sophisticated sipping. A second bar is situated in front of a stage where live bands and artists from all genres entertain an upscale crowd. There's even a VIP loft with full view of the band that offers complete privacy for selective groups.
Stacie's expert tip: The gorgeous antique bar is stocked with premium spirits.
This isn't only where flocks of tourists come to see the heart of country music in downtown Nashville, but where locals take their friends to get a true feel of what the city is all about: music, hospitality and fun. Famous bars and live act venues not to miss are Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Roberts Western World, Legends Corner and The Stage. Big crowds also flood into the multi tiered Honky Tonk Central where different music is offered on every level. Rippy's is also famous for their house bands and barbeque. If you want to seek a moment of refuge (and a sophisticated drink), simply take a break and step into Merchant's, which is the best dining and wine list on the block. You can go right back to the strip for more action without skipping a beat.
Recommended for Best Nightlife because: Drinks here even require 8 different types of ice. Every cocktail is a work of art.
