About Nashville, TN Attractions
Nashville is a city of music, parks and history, so naturally there are plenty of things to do and see. If you are here for the music, there are plenty of attractions to fulfill the need when taking a break from the shows. With the legendary Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium and Grand Ole Opry all located here, visitors of all ages can explore the roots of Nashville's world-famous music scene. Historic sites unrelated to music also abound, with Andrew Jackson's plantation home "Hermitage" leading the way. Museums showcase artwork, provide opportunities to experience the history of the area, and offer botanical gardens. The "City of Parks" also offers plenty of choices for an escape to nature, whether a quiet picnic or invigorating run. Centennial Park features a full-size replica of the Greek Parthenon, built in 1897 for the Centennial Exposition; this local landmark now houses the city art museum. Before the kids tire of museums, take them to the Adventure Science Center, which has plenty of fun hands-on exhibits. Kids will also enjoy the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, especially when they see the giant playground called the "Jungle Gym."
