About Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach earned the nickname "The Sun Fun Capital" honestly. There's plenty of sun and surf to be soaked up on the white-sand beaches of the Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of coast with Myrtle Beach serving as the centerpiece. And with excellent golf, fishing, shopping, dancing and other top attractions, fun is never far away. 10Best shows you the hottest spots in this happening neighborhood.
See & Do
With more than 100 golf courses on the Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach is home to some of the best, oldest and most famous layouts. The Dunes Golf and Beach Club has been home to many professional tournaments and is famous for its scenic coastline and maritime forest. Pine Lakes International Golf Club was the first course in Myrtle Beach and is the birthplace of Sports Illustrated magazine.
Eat
This former beach guest cottage was temporarily converted to a restaurant in the 1950s and the food was so good that the transition became permanent. Serving some of the best seafood and Southern cuisine in town, Sea Captain's House offers a spectacular vista of the Atlantic Ocean. It's award-winning menu and view have been featured in the New York Times.
Party
The Bowery is famous for being the home of country super-group Alabama, which served as the house band back in the 1970s. Not much has changed at this humble honky-tonk, which still features great live music you can scoot your boots to. The neighborhood has undergone a major upgrade with the addition of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, which is stumbling distance away from the Bowery's front door.
Stay
Stay in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach at the Boardwalk Beach Resort, a new highrise that is strolling distance to all the hot spots along Ocean Boulevard. The short walk is even nicer with the addition of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, a 1.2-mile walkway along the beachfront that takes you to some of the district's top attractions. Of course, you can also stay at the resort and enjoy the beach and amenities.
Shop
Rainy days at the beach are the perfect time to knock out some shopping, and there's no better place in the Myrtle Beach area than the modern Coastal Grand Mall. Featuring all the major national retail outlets plus some unique local boutiques, Coastal Grand Mall has something for everyone, including a game room, food court and move theater for those who aren't into shopping.
