About Myrtle Beach, SC Attractions
Whether it's fun in the sun or good times in the nighttime, Myrtle Beach has you covered. With a 60-mile stretch of white-sand beaches, the Grand Strand's shoreline and relatively calm waters offer excellent swimming, sunbathing, beach-combing, water sports and fishing. Of course, there's also the man-made variety of aquatic fun, like Myrtle Waves and Wildwater & Wheels water parks. Featuring more than 100 golf courses and dozens of miniature putt-putt places, many visitors spend their vacation chasing the little white ball. But the fun doesn't go down when the sun goes down. The Myrtle Beach area boasts several entertainment, dining and shopping complexes, such as Broadway the Beach, Market Common and Barefoot Resort, which are popular hubs for nightlife, and the new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk has revitalized the downtown Ocean Boulevard district. The 1.2-mile stretch of wooden walkway offers scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and open-air shops, cafes and bars on the other. The Boardwalk allows visitors to stroll to the new 190-foot SkyWheel, which gives breathtaking views of the city and coast, and Family Kingdom Amusement Park and Plyler Park, where free concerts and fireworks shows are held throughout the summer months.
