About Philadelphia, PA Nightlife
At one time, if you were going to go bar-hopping in Philadelphia, you'd mostly focus your energies on South Street. While it's true that a lot of the city's most well-established nightspots are there, there are now myriad reasons to step out into other neighborhoods. Old City's Continental, Eulogy and The Khyber are all just a few strides from Independence Mall and would have made for great places for Franklin and Jefferson to duck out between sessions of the Continental Congress. A few blocks north, spots like Standard Tap, Bar Ferdinand and PYT have helped turn Northern Liberties into a hip spot. Rittenhouse Square, meanwhile, continues its reputation as being the city's cosmopolitan heart and soul by offering nighttime crowds topflight destinations like The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co. and a.kitchen.
