Cha ba Thai is a great Thai restaurant near Sandy and Fremont that serves authentic Thai dishes at reasonable lunch and dinner prices. Many Portlanders consider this to be the best Thai food in Portland. They can make any of the dishes as spicy as you like. Their curries and pad thai are a lunch favorite. They offer a wide variety of Thai food including grilled beef salad, crab fried rice, corn fritters, eggplant stir fry, Tom Yum soup, and sausage salad rolls. They also serve Thai tea and Thai coffee. They are open for lunch and dinner everyday, except on Sundays when they only serve dinner. Chaba Thai has another location on Alberta Street.

Spare and hip, this celebrated restaurant features subtle coloring, a wealth of mirrors and some of the most stylish pan-Asian cuisine in town. A cool crowd frequents Saucebox and can't seem to get enough of the beautiful, palate-pleasing dishes, which pare Asian cuisine down to its essence. Roasted Javanese salmon is the fantastic house specialty; other great options include Asian chicken salad, noodle bowls, lemongrass beef and rich curries. Desserts are simple but elegant as well; just look to the coconut sorbet or chocolate pot de cr?me for proof. And make sure to come back later on at night. In the evenings, there's a great bar scene, specialty cocktails and DJs or live music.

Thien Hong is a Chinese restaurant in Northeast Portland that is known for their salt peppered squid and they have continued to live up to the hype their customers have created. In fact Thien Hong's pepper salted squid is still considered to be the best in all of Portland, even after all these years. They are not only know for the salt peppered squid, because they do have a large menu with lots of other good chinese food choices like Fried Chicken, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chicken, Ginger Chicken or Crab, and Fish Maw soup. What ever kind of craving you are having for Chinese food they are sure to have it.

Departure restaurant and lounge is found in downtown Portland inside the Nines Hotel. They serve their own signature cocktail creations, like the Three Headed Elephant and Crazy 88. The bar is well stocked so they can make almost any cocktail for you. The atmosphere is lively and bright. Most the décor is white. They serve interesting food too that they refer to as modern Portland Asian cuisine. Food offerings include sushi, dim sum, and kushiyaki. They also offer a vegan menu. They also have an awesome roof top patio area. They offer happy hour from 4-6 PM daily , again from 10 PM - midnight Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 PM to close on Fridays and Saturdays.

Khao San features a simple menu consisting of small plates allowing guests to try the different flavors of what the Thai culture has to offer. They use authentic Asian vegetables, when in season, like apple eggplants, holy basil, and Asian cucumbers.Their signature desserts comprise of many flavors from Thailand including Thai Tea flavored ice cream and macaroons. All of their food is made from scratch using local products and ingredients. Not only is their food awesome, but their restaurant is cool too. They brought over a Tuk Tuk booth from Thailand that you can sit in inside their restaurant. Kid's love sitting inside of it!

Serving some of the best Thai in Portland, Oregon is Mee-Sen Thai Eatery on Mississippi Avenue in north Portland. The restaurant has a killer vibe, but it's the food that really makes it a standout. The menu is extensive and all the dishes are just right, fresh and flavorful. Oh and did I mention how cheap it is to eat here. A bowl of Tom Yum is only $6. Plus they have happy hour daily from 3PM �— 6PM AND 9PM �— close and all day Tuesday with $1 off all beer and wine and $.50 off small noodle bowls.
Recommended for Asian because: Mee-Sen Thai Eatery has some of the best Thai food in Portland and it's cheap.

Nak Won is quite possibly the best Korean restaurant in the greater Portland area and worth a drive out to Beaverton just to dine here.. At Nak Won you can enjoy large portions of Bulgogi, Bibimbap, Kimchi Pork Belly, Black Bean Noodle, Tofu soup, and so much more. No matter what you eat, you are served a variety of banchan (side dishes) at no extra cost like their Korean version of potato salad. Their Korean pancakes are outrageously good, so be sure to get one in addition to whatever else you ordered. Nak Won also offers some Korean barbeque options.
