About Central Eastside

Any of 3 bridges from downtown deliver pedestrians to this vibrant neighborhood across the Willamette. Take your pick of beverages: some of the country's best coffee is served here, in the shadow of American Barista and Coffee School. Craft beers are also key in the countless restaurants, bars and clubs.
See & Do
Central Eastside was once ruled by industry, and much of its industrial grittiness remains. As the neighborhood undergoes a significant revitalization, you'll notice many examples of creative adaptation and reuse of the old industrial structures. On a warm summer afternoon, take a walk down the Eastbank Esplanade, ride the streetcar or learn about the fine art of coffee brewing at the American Barista and Coffee School.
Eat
Central Eastside's eclectic mix of creative-minded residents have attracted a number of hip and chic dining establishments to the area. You'll find everything from French fusion at Le Pigeon to casual fine dining at Clarklewis and a locally sourced menu at Noble Rot.
Party
Portland sees more breweries open each year than anywhere else on earth, and many of them choose to open up shop in Central Eastside's Industrial District. After tasting a brew at the Cascades Brewing tap room, head over to the Dig A Pony, where Portland's young and hip come to be seen.
