Cincinnati has been experiencing a hotel renaissance with several new hotels to complement long-standing historic hotels. Historic hotels like the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza and The Cincinnatian are known not only for their service, but for their notable restaurants. A trend in newer Cincinnati hotels has been the renovation of historic buildings. The Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites make their home in a stunning former newspaper building. The 21c Museum Hotel is both a hotel and a modern art museum.

Caution: Several hotels are actually in Covington, KY, but they are still quite conveniently located a short walk from downtown Cincinnati.

Others have legions of loyal customers. Some have been featured on TV shows, further increasing their popularity. There are also many inexpensive restaurants with great food.

Cincinnati supplies a diverse offering of nightlife options, with something for everyone. The city’s 19th-century German immigrants brought with them a beer-brewing heritage which remains today. Many local breweries offer taprooms. The influence of nearby Kentucky Bourbon Country is felt in Cincinnati, especially on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. The city has several bars known for creative cocktails, live music and outdoor spaces. Cincinnati is a diverse, interesting city and the shopping scene reflects that. One of the best places to shop in Cincinnati is also the oldest. Findlay Market is the oldest continuously operated public market in Ohio, in operation since 1855. The colorful market is located in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. While in Over-the-Rhine, check out the growing shopping scene in this beautifully restored historic district. Other historic shopping districts include Bellevue’s Historic Fairfield Avenue, a charming revitalized area, and Hyde Park Square, with several upscale boutiques. Cincinnati is also home to several shopping malls, both indoors and out.
