About Watertown
Watertown sits just outside of Boston along the banks of the Charles River. A family neighborhood, you'll find a diverse population that has strong ties to Armenian culture. Home to a vibrant art center, and recently, an indispensable contributor to the food scene; Watertown is well worth a visit.
See & Do
Set along the Charles River, Watertown Square skirts the River's edge and flows along this famous River into neighboring Boston "burb", Brighton, meandering all the way into the Boston proper. Enjoy a walk, or bike ride along the pristine paths, complete with playgrounds, perfect for a day of outdoor activity with the family.
Eat
An up and coming foodie culture has taken hold of Watertown and is not letting go. Hot eateries are emerging all the time. Like La Casa de Pedro, a local favorite serving drinks that rival their delicious renditions of Venezuelan food. But perhaps the most talked about is Strip T's. Turned over to the "next generation" while still focusing on simple homemade food, it has been recently elevated to gourmet status that rivals Boston's finest.
Party
Once a fully functioning Army arsenal, the Watertown Arsenal has been converted into a vibrant art center. Aptly named, the Arsenal Center for the Arts, it is 30,000 square feet of space with two theaters, learning spaces, artist studios, galleries, rehearsal rooms, and informal gathering places. Three resident companies: New Repertory Theatre; Watertown Children's Theatre; and The Quilters' Connection reside at the Arsenal Center and put on various productions, classes and performances under its roof.
Shop
The Arsenal Mall sits at the crossroads of Watertown, Brighton, Cambridge and Newton, making it easily accessible to many of the area's neighbors. A mall of a slightly smaller scale that houses more discount retailers than full-priced options, draws visitors through its doors each day. You'll find retailers like Marshalls, and smaller factory stores and outlets like Gap Outlet and Ann taylor Factory Store allow for a little savings while shopping.
