The great location makes this hotel a winner. Prime location for shopping and the many outdoor activities the east side (and the rest of the island) has to offer, along with nearby beaches. The hotel is a good price for what it offers. You can walk to the wonderful Lydgate Beach Park from here, which is great snorkeling for anyone who likes to check out the underwater world, as well as a perfect place for children. The hotel is great for families too and is modest yet nice. There's a pool, tropical decor like most hotels in the area, and you'll find basic amenities here. It's a great option if you're looking for affordable comfort.
Recommended for Best Hotels because: It's all about the beach here, and there's plenty in close proximity to this hotel.
With a nice pool in the center of the horse shoe shaped layout of the hotel, the beach resort consists of four pools, two hot tubs, a health spa, fitness room, a pool side bar and just about anything else a vacationer could need. A very tropical, plantation style decor can be found in every one of the 350 rooms. The pools have man made waterfalls, one water slide, and half of one pool is lined with sand. This is a nice addition since the beach out front isn't the best for swimming. For those that wish to get in the ocean, or shop, the hotel is in prime proximity to great swimming and snorkeling beaches, and the cute town of Kapa`a.
Recommended for Best Hotels because: The Kauai Beach Resort is located close to many amazing beaches, and is a beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful, quaint, historic plantation homes make up the sprawling plantation resort on the west side. This place is great, and quite unique. Small plantation homes, from one to five bedrooms with small porches, full kitchens, and claw foot bathtubs make for a private and pretty place to stay. Many back yards have mango trees loaded with fruit in season, and all have barbecue facilities. The acreage sprawls out to the ocean, where a long grayish black sand beach sprawls for miles, but isn't good for swimming. Yet it is one of the best places to catch a vibrant west side sunset. There's an eatery and local micro brewery on site, where you'll find great beer and Pacific Rim cuisine. Live music plays at the restaurant several nights a week, and it's a great good place to relax, enjoy a meal, and take in Hawaiian music in a very tropical atmosphere. This is a great hotel for everyone from honeymooners to families. There's even a spa on site.
Recommended for Best Hotels because: This historic hotel combines simple elegance with the deep sense of peace the area offers for true R&R.
