Situated in the heart of Cambie Village, Lemonade Gluten Free Bakery is your one-stop-shop for all things baked and gluten free. Tracy Kadonoff has an extensive resume as a pastry chef, but developed an intolerance towards gluten. Not one to be discouraged of her love for pastries and baked goods, Tracy decided to use her skills and create delicious gluten free treats instead. After trying one of Tracy's goodies, you will agree that she has certainly mastered another form of baking. Lemonade is just as delightful in atmosphere as it is in flavor and we think you're going to love this spot. It's hard to pick just one thing to have from the menu that consists of breads, cakes, pastries and more.
Recommended for Dessert because: Lemonade Gluten Free Bakery's is not just gluten free, but they also have plenty of dairy-free options.
Natasha's expert tip: Check out their website for their gluten free recipes.
Cartems Donuterie is changing Vancouver's donut scene. It's well known that Canadians love their donuts, but Cartems is adding flavorful twists to what you would typically see on a donut menu. The Bee Sting's topped with a Cassia flower infused honey glaze and finished with cracked black pepper and grated parmesan cheese. It makes for a delicious sweet and salty treat. For something sweet, the Earl Grey donut is not only beautiful to look at, it's equally delicious to eat. Another thing to love about Cartems is that they use local, ethically sourced and sustainable ingredients to make their donuts. With a passion for baking and coming up with new ideas, don't be surprised to see their current menu expanding.
Recommended for Dessert because: Cartems Donuterie isn't any donut shop. These guys make what many consider to be the best donuts in the city.
Natasha's expert tip: For those that are vegan or can't stomach flour, there are options for you to enjoy as well.
Located in the opulent Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Bel Cafe is a gem that's affordable for everyone. It's sister restaurant, Hawksworth, is one of Vancouver's best high-end restaurants and the finesse that diners experience there is charmingly transferred over to Bel Cafe. Chef David Hawksworth is well known for his skill in the kitchen and though Bel Cafe is not fine dining like Hawksworth, it's delicious and the price point is very reasonable for the quality you're getting. The menu consists of sandwiches, salads, soups and a number of sweet items that will rock your world. People come specifically for the macarons and with an array of bold flavors, it's not hard to see why.
Recommended for Dessert because: Along with their freshly baked tarts and pastries, Bel Cafe is known for their macarons that come in a variety of flavours.
Natasha's expert tip: Considering it's in a high-end hotel and its sister restaurant is Hawksworth, Bel Cafe is affordable and so delicious.
After a few licks, gelato aficionados will likely say that Bella Gelateria has some of the best out there. It's not surprising considering it won first place at the 2012 Florence Italy Gelato Festival. Bella makes small batches each day and only uses quality ingredients. They make a variety of unique and traditional gelato and sorbetto flavors and take advantage of seasonal ingredients. While you will find plenty of flavor here, one thing that's for sure is that you won't find unnatural chemicals and colorings here. Located in Coal Harbour, right by Canada Place, Bella is in prime location if you're just getting off of a cruise ship and have a sweet craving, or fancy a stroll around the Seawall.
Recommended for Dessert because: Not only does Bella Gelateria make fresh gelato every day, there are always new seasonal options to try.
Natasha's expert tip: Their location in Yaletown makes great pizza and pasta if you're looking for a precursor to your sweet treat.
As the name suggests, BETA5 Chocolates and Pastries is mainly known for two sweet treats that are crafted by Adam Chandler, their pastry chef and chocolatier. While delicious to eat, his creations are stunning works of art that are almost too pretty to eat. Their cream puffs aren't for the faint of heart. Tuck into crisp choux shells that are filled with a variety of creams and custards, and adorned with beautiful touches. They have a selection of year-round favorites that complement the seasonal creations. BETA5's chocolates are award-winning and made with chocolate from France's Michel Cluizel. In addition to the stunning chocolate they use, they're made in small batches and finished by hand. These aren't your average
Recommended for Dessert because: BETA5 Chocolate and Pastries Vietnamese coffee cream puff is one for the books and unlike any other cream puff you'll find in the city.
Natasha's expert tip: If you can't make it into the store, you can order the chocolates online.
Butter. Cadeaux Bakery does not skimp on this delectable ingredient and you won't find any imposters that claim to be just as good as butter in their treats. While the all-butter croissant is ideal for those savory cravings, we're here for the sweet stuff! The dark Callebaut chocolate croissant will please your desire for chocolate and the ricotta lemon slice is a delicious combination of sweet and tangy. Feeling like eating a London Fog? Good news, you can at Cadeaux. The London Fog cake is a vanilla cake with Earl Grey infused syrup, Earl Grey milk chocolate ganache, white chocolate mousse, and if that's not enough for you, Chantilly cream finishes this. The atmosphere inside Cadeaux is clean, white and modern with an open kitchen so that you can see the masters at work. They offer a wide selection of tea and coffee.
Recommended for Dessert because: Cadeaux Bakery's London Fog cake is a local favorite. Earl Grey flavours throughout, milk chocolate ganache, white chocolate mousse, and Chantilly cream make it noteworthy.
Natasha's expert tip: Cadeaux Bakery is slightly off the main drag of Gastown, but it's well worth a visit.

As a mom to a daughter with celiac disease, Lisa was determined to change her wheat-based baking business into something the whole family could enjoy. And she did just that. As a gluten free bakery in North Vancouver, Lisa has been providing the city with tasty treats that won't leave gluten intolerant tummies unhappy. Using organic ingredients, Two Daughters Bakeshop has your best interest at heart. Pop into the bakery and indulge in cookies, breads, muffins, mini donuts, granola bars, cakes, pies and a very British Columbian sweet, Nanaimo bars. There are vegan options that are also available for those that have a lactose intolerance, or prefer to avoid dairy products. An added bonus? Many other bakeries around Vancouver are carrying their baked goods so a gluten free treat isn't hard to find.
Recommended for Dessert because: Two Daughters Bakeshop makes so many delicious gluten free and vegan options, and the chocolate chip chia seed cookie hits the spot every time.
Natasha's expert tip: Two Daughters Bakeshop isn't right on the main road and you have to enter off of the alley, but you can't miss the seafoam green bakery!
Before opening Beaucoup, Jackie Kai Ellis closed her design firm and made a bold move to go and study French pastry making at Paris' École Gastronomique Bellouet Conseil. Since opening in 2012, Beaucoup continues to be a go-to place to indulge amongst locals. The variety of croissants are handmade with plenty of butter and are perfectly crisp, yet flaky on the outside and buttery and light on the inside. When it comes to cookies, Beaucoup Bakery doesn't mess around. Make sure to try the chocolate rosemary cookie. It's fudge-like texture and unique flavor combination make it a winner. If you're ready to go all in, the peanut butter sandwich cookie has your name on it. While it's big enough to share, you probably won't want to. The seasonal tarts and treats never disappoint and offer something new to try.
Recommended for Dessert because: Beaucoup Bakery & Cafe makes the most amazing pastries in Vancouver. They're flaky, buttery, and indulgent.
Natasha's expert tip: Drinking chocolate isn't always easy to come by in Vancouver and Beaucoup Bakery & Café serves it.
Mosquito says that they are "A champagne bar without the caviar. A dessert bar without the frosting." It's safe to say that owners, Alice Wu and Johan Friedrich, have nailed this unique and new-to-Vancouver concept. On the dessert menu, guests can expect to enjoy a variety of macarons with interesting flavors like olive oil and rosemary or Oolong tea and milk chocolate, or decadent creations that are perfect for sharing (or having all to yourself). For those who don't like sweet, they have savory options, too. Wash all of that down with a crisp glass of champagne from the well-curated selection of bubbles. Other options include sweet wines, champagne cocktails, spirits, premium spirits and beer.
Recommended for Dessert because: Not only do Mosquito's desserts taste excellent, they're stunning works of art.
Natasha's expert tip: They have a wonderful selection of champagne that pairs perfectly with your dessert.
