Catch 122 Bistro has been a Gastown staple for a number of years now. Known for their comforting dishes, this spot is popular amongst the brunch crowd. The menu is broken up into sweets and small dishes, a selection of eggs Benedict, brunch plates, and grains and salads. Suffice to say, you've got options. For something totally gratifying, go for The Catch Madame. This hearty sandwich on sourdough bread is loaded with a fried egg, ham, dijon mustard, apricot chutney, gruyere and a creamy béchamel sauce, served with a salad for a side of virtue. If you're all about the eggs Benedict, they have three kinds to choose from. Whatever you order, be sure to get some of their crispy potato hash.

Natasha's expert tip: The cured meats and desserts are done in-house.
The atmosphere inside is anything but your typical Mexican-inspired restaurant. Instead, it evokes the retro furniture section in a thrift store. Although it's very charming, their reason for doing so is ethically sound and their devotion to the environment and the health of our bodies is dispersed from concept to menu. Local wines and beers mingle with organic and free-range ingredients to produce a socially responsible and healthy environment. They're constantly looking at ways to give back to the community. The menu is vegetarian, but also favors vegan diets. With the use of nuts, tofu and beans, it's hard to miss the lack of meat. For breakfast, tuck into breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos, their version of eggs Benedict, and French toast, amongst other tasty options. Breakfast is affordable and satisfying at Bandidas.
Recommended for Brunch because: In addition to vegetarian options, Bandidas serves delicious vegan brunch items.
Natasha's expert tip: Get there early to avoid a wait.
Locals flock to this popular brunch spot so don't be surprised to see people waiting outside to get a table on any given weekend. If you go on a weekday or when they first open, you likely won't have as long of a wait. Medina is known for their waffles, and though they may look small, they are quite filling. Choose from toppings like milk chocolate lavender, fig orange marmalade and mixed berry compote, to name a few. For your main, try the fricasse and enjoy two fried eggs, tender braised short ribs, savory roasted potatoes, sweet caramelized onions, arugula, applewood cheddar and grilled foccacia. Wash it all down with a lavender latte; it's pure heaven. Medina Cafe is definitely the place to go if you're looking to shake things up and veer away from your typical breakfast fare.

Natasha's expert tip: On weekends there can be very long waits and if you can wake up bright and early, you can beat the line up.

Located inside of Vancouver's newest hotel, Parq, Honey Salt is a lovely spot to start your day. Sure, the dining room and lounge are perfectly Instagrammable, but Honey Salt is more than just a pretty space. This is the first collaboration for restauranteur Elizabeth Blau (who has multiple restaurants in North America) and her husband, Chef Kim Canteenwalla. Though it's a hotel restaurant, Honey Salt ticks the boxes of a neighborhood restaurant: the food's delicious and approachable, the space is beautiful and comfortable, and the service is hospitable. The menu focuses on farm-to-table, featuring a very British Columbian bounty. For brunch, you'll find classics like buttermilk pancakes, eggs Benedict, and a full English-style breakfast. Mixed in with the classics are dishes like a dungeness crab roll, a poke bowl, a breakfast galette, a Biloxi buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, flavorful salads, and healthy juices and smoothies.
Recommended for Brunch because: Ordering a Caesar is an experience at Honey Salt. They'll bring over a cart so you can customize your drink.
Natasha's expert tip: Honey Salt's great for a group and you can also make a reservation.
Inspired by North African cuisine, Chambar is perfect when you want something more than your typical pancakes and eggs. For something lighter, the yoghurt with fresh fruit, a mixed berry compote and roasted nuts hits the spot. A light but filling option is the Bon Matin. Served with prosciutto, tomato, avocado, olive tapenade, brie, a soft boiled egg and and sourdough, it's a bit of everything. Vegetarian? They'll sub out the prosciutto for their housemade falafel. A dish that's rich, filling, and will keep you going all day is the fricassee. Made with braised short ribs, balsamic cipollini onions, potatoes, watercress, fried eggs and applewood smoked cheddar, this is where it's at. Chambar's coffee and cocktails are the perfect addition to the table.
Recommended for Brunch because: Served with spicy merguez sausage, a saffron tomato stew, fried pita, raita, and poached eggs, Chambar's tajine is filling, but not too rich.
Natasha's expert tip: It's best to make a reservation on weekends as the place fills up quickly.

If your idea of brunch leans more towards burgers and sandwiches, they've got plenty of lunch and dinner options on the menu too.
