No big surprises here, but if you're in the mood to shop, you might find a name brand bargain in wine country. The Napa Valley Premium Outlets are everything you'd expect from an outlet mall, offering well-known brands like Coach, Lucky Brand, Gap and Guess. With 50 or so stores to choose from, shoppers can easily lose track of time here. Less than a five minute drive from downtown Napa, the outlet mall is a good spot to pick-up an extra sweater, pair of shoes or that must have piece of your travel wardrobe that you forgot to throw in the suitcase before leaving home.

Dana's expert tip: There isn't much food to be found at the Napa Premium Outlets, so eat before you come to shop.
Art enthusiasts and collectors should save time during their Napa Valley getaway to visit Ca'Toga Art Gallery. Located in downtown Calistoga, along the main drag of Lincoln Avenue, the gallery is set back a bit off the street, so it's easy to walk right by if you don't know where you are going. Step inside and it's obvious it's not your typical vacation town art gallery. Owned by artist Carlo Marchiori, the barrel-vault ceiling has been turned into an enormous canvas, showcasing the Ptolemaic Constellations. Once you finish gazing above, take time to look down to your feet. The terrazzo floor is a chart of the pre-Copernicus' universe. The gallery features one-of-a-kind paintings, ceramics and more. The gallery is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Recommended for Best Shopping because: There's nothing else quite like Ca'Toga Art Gallery in all of Napa Valley.
Dana's expert tip: Italian born, Marchiori also lives in Calistoga in an Italian inspired villa (complete with Roman pool) that he built in the late 1980s. Tours are held once a week, May through October.

And don't miss the chance to watch confections being made in the glass kitchen at Kollar Chocolates. V Marketplace buildings are restored, but the charm remains. V Marketplace is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places with the U.S. Department of the Interior.
