Nestled between high-end North Scottsdale and the college town of Tempe, South Scottsdale is situated at a very busy crossroads bustling with commerce, good eats and the excitement of Old Town Scottsdale. Nightlife, eclectic eateries, great shopping and plenty of top-notch people-watching are all within easy reach of this busy neighborhood.
Eat
You'll find an assortment of eclectic eateries in south Scottsdale, including the popular Green Restaurant, a popular vegetarian cafe that even meat-lovers can fall in love with. The menu dabbles in Mexican, Asian, and Mediterranean, always with superb results. Don't leave without trying one of the house lemonades or limeades, or better yet, one of the famous Tsoynami desserts.
Stay
This boutique hotel stands out from the slew of chain accommodations bordering south Scottsdale. The chic lobby of 3 Palms provides a quiet respite after a long day of travel. Rooms are small but smartly designed, and the convenient south Scottsdale location makes this an excellent base for exploring the rest of the city.
Shop
Nestled in Old Town you'll find the city's popular Fifth Avenue Shopping District, home to many of the city's high end boutiques. Although it's certainly not New York, you'll find many Southwestern-inflected gift shops and high-end art galleries. Great window shopping and people watching make this a destination for any visitor to south Scottsdale.
