HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Westmoreland teen is accused of murdering a Macon County teen and while he remains in juvenile attention, a judge will decide if he’s to be tried as an adult.

That’s according to Sumner County District Attorney Ray Whitley. The DA confirmed to WSMV4 that the 17-year-old charged in Trinity Bostic’s murder remains in detention while a decision looms as to how he will be tried.

On August 5, the teen will go before a judge during a transfer hearing to determine if he will be transferred to an adult facility and in turn be tried for first-degree murder as an adult.

Bostic’s remains were found in Hendersonville in early July after she was reported missing in Macon County on June 29. Her body was recovered near Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.

The teen accused in her murder was arrested and charged on July 6.

Police are asking anyone with any information regarding the case to call and report the information to the Hendersonville Police Department at (615) 822-1111 or the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at (615) 594-4113.
