Robby Thomas

Robby Thomas is the Vice President and General Manager of WIS and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.

A native of Nahunta, Georgia, Robby is a graduate of the University of Georgia and began his career at WMBB News 13 in Panama City, Florida as a broadcast journalist. From there, he returned to rural Nahunta to help Brantley Telephone Company launch South Georgia’s first fiber-to-the-home multichannel video programming distributor and the community’s first local news and sports channel, BTC-2.

Robby moved back into local broadcast media as a marketing leader for WNCN in Raleigh, NC and later became Director of Marketing & Audience Development for Gray Television’s WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was promoted to VP/GM of WTVY-WRGX News 4 in Dothan, Alabama where his teams successfully delivered strong performance for three years before his arrival in Columbia.

Robby enjoys time with his family, the outdoors, playing guitar and helping connect great people to other great people.
