FIRST ALERT TRAFFIC: New Orangeburg County bridge over South Edisto River opens to traffic
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said a new bridge on US-301 southbound has opened to those traveling through Orangeburg County.
The bridge crosses over the South Edisto River, affecting drivers going between Orangeburg and Bamberg.
Crews are finishing up construction this month, according to SCDOT. Their remaining work includes paving and placement of pavement markings along the stretch of highway.
Officials advise drivers to use caution and be aware of temporary lane closures in both directions that could go into effect as crews finish up.
