NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston police, Berkeley County deputies and South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are searching for three suspects following a police chase down the interstate.

Public Information Officer for the North Charleston Police Department Harve Jacobs says the incident began around 4 a.m. Saturday when officers responded to the 4800 block of Tanger Boulevard in reference to four men threatening someone.

Officers approached the vehicle, noting the smell of marijuana, but the driver sped away.

Police pursued the vehicle down I-26 West. The chase ended at the intersection of Highway 176 and Cypress Campground Road after the car got stuck in the mud.

Officers successfully arrested one passenger, 18-year-old Anthony Frazier, who is charged with receiving stolen goods. Police say Frazier was also armed with a handgun during the incident.

He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center on a $2,500 bond and is due in court on July 25.

The other three occupants of the vehicle are at large after one North Charleston Police K-9 and Berkeley County deputies tried to track the remaining suspects. Police say they are still being sought.

Police say troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol assisted with the pursuit.
