Woman charged with voluntary manslaughter after boyfriend’s deadly shooting in Clarendon County

CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A woman arrested after the deadly shooting of her boyfriend at a hotel in Clarendon County has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Carrie Anastasia Woodberry, 27, was arrested after deputies responded to reports of someone shot at the Quality Inn on Paxville Highway on Tuesday.

According to the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), deputies found Abram Bernardo Walker Jr., 28, of Sumter, shot and lying on the upper landing of the second-floor stairwell.

Initially, CCSO said Woodberry’s charges were pending.

She was taken to the Clarendon County Detention Center following her arrest.
