RIDGEWAY, S.C. (WIS) - Traffic was backed up on Interstate 77 Friday afternoon after a semi-truck caught on fire, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Drivers are being detoured at this time, SCHP Trooper Gary Miller said.

Miller posted on social media that drivers should seek an alternative route if they are passing through the area.

Traffic sensors in the area showed that the right lane on I-77 North was closed near East Peach Road in Fairfield County.

According to sensors, traffic was backed up just past the Blythewood exit on I-77 North.
