GREENVILLE, S.C. (WIS) - An inmate who escaped a detention center in Elizabethton, Tennessee was located and arrested in Greenville County, according to deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD).

Billy Reed Fletcher, 43, escaped the detention center on June 20, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said he was believed to be in the Palmetto State.

Deputies said SLED received a tip on Fletcher’s whereabouts, which ultimately led to his arrest at around 8:30 p.m. July 4 at 705 Sulphur Springs Road.

Fletcher will be held at the Greenville County Detention Center on a fugitive from justice warrant before he is extradited back to Tennessee.
