LEXINGTON COUNTY S.C. (WIS) - Lexington School District Two parents will not have to worry about packing a lunch for their children this upcoming school year.

The school district recently announced students will eat breakfast and lunch meals at school for free due to their participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. The program comes from Section 104(a) of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. CEP allows schools and districts with increased levels of low-income students to serve free or reduced-priced meals.

The meals will be prepared following the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines for healthy school meals.

Officials families will not have to fill out meal applications to receive these meals.

Parents/guardians who do not want their child/children to participate in CEP are asked to contact Pamela Bienkoski, Food Service Office, on an informal basis at (803) 739-8381.
