Fort Jackson opens its gates to the public for Fourth of July

Fort Jackson hosts Fourth of July celebration

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Fort Jackson will open its gate to the public for an Independence Day Celebration.

There will be a fireworks show, live music and a kid’s zone with carnival rides ― all free to the public.

Local artists performing during the Fourth of July celebration are Hijacked, Jazzy Trinity, the Reggie Sullivan Band, and DJ Payne.

Guests can also purchase food from food trucks and drink tents.

People visiting post are asked to use Gate 4, which is the Boyden Arbor Road, to access the field where the fireworks will take place.

The gates will open at 4 p.m. and music begins at 6 p.m.

The fireworks show will start at around 9 p.m.
